Tom Orsborn: Take that, Zen Master
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - If we've heard it once out here, we've heard it a thousand times: Lakers coach Phil Jackson is 40-0 in series in which his teams won the opener.

But did you know Gregg Popovich has a pretty impressive stat of his own to boast about, one in which he comes across as a modern-day Henry Houdini?

Under Popovich, the Spurs have trailed 1-0 in playoff series five times from 2003 through the just-completed series with the Hornets. Each time, his teams defied the odds and won all five series.

Here's another one -- the Spurs have won the last 3 series when they did not have home court advantage.

I'm thinkin' LA vs Detroit in 2004. It was the finals but hey, anybody can duplicate that one.
