It looks to me that Ed Rush will be the lead official for Game 3; it also seems very likely that Joey Crawford will be the lead official for Game 4.

Hopefully they will let us get away with fouls and only assess personal fouls for fouls that were obviously flagrant. Manu and Tony will have to continue flopping too. I'm calling Spurs by 35+ for both games.

Why the hell do they keep bringing this Crawford guy in to ref Spurs games? That makes no sense to me. Why can't they just say, No Spurs for Crawford, period? Is there some reason?

Ask Stern and his love for the Spurs's dismissal from the playoffs!

Why would they do that? Who do you think Stern would rather have in the Finals, us or LA?

Come on laker fans, it's not like the answer to this question is rocket science!

Well, I try really hard not to pay any attention to the whole conspiracy bullsh*t, but in this case, it just doesn't make sense. I mean, if you don't want anyone to question the outcome of a series, then you just wouldn't use a ref with such bad blood! WTF?

NBA refs are good when you compare them to FIBAs refs and I find that this year they are even better.
To me, they are fair and consistent and I quite don't care about who will ref a game.

I had a feeling Crawford would show up in the series, having him in Spurtown is going to be great.

I think this debacle is primarily Duncan's fault, you shouldn't snitch on the refs unless you know for sure he's going to be kicked out of the NBA. Or unless you're retiring cuz it's never good to have a ref not like you.

He isn't going to call anything obviously unfair but if there's a chance to give a questionable call, I don't think he'll be doing Duncan any favors.

The refs have not determined this series so far. The Spurs poor play has.

This "debacle" in NOT Duncan's fault. Joey Crawford is a hot head who lost his cool at Tim Duncan's expense. Laughing on the bench and getting thrown out of a very important late season game is nonsense. The guy challenged Duncan to a fight. He lost it.

Joey paid a price, but now he's back. Who knows, he could go the contrarion route and call a bunch of stuff against the Lakers if he is in SA. Joey knows people are watching him. If he screws Duncan and the Spurs over in an obvious way, he may get an early retirement.

Remember, cousin Joey is one of the refs who underpaid their income taxes by selling their first class seats and pocketing the money while not reporting the money as income to the IRS - he got caught and got in a lot of trouble.

Joey better mind his Ps and Qs. He knows it.

Officials should be the least of the Spurs concerns right now.

The officials should be the least of the Spurs concerns, true, but Joey Crawford? I don't know, this just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

Are you guys counting on that? That's pretty pathetic, isn't it?

Joey Crawford's one of the fairest refs in the NBA. Has a bit of a temper, but he calls things evenly.

At least it isn't that scumbag Danny Crawford.

Maybe, against your team but not ours.

I think Joey doesn't like Duncan, but nah, it's just fun to troll for fishies. Games have been ref'ed pretty fairly for the road team so far, but there's been many Spur threads saying the refs are handing wins to the Lakers. :D
