He's deserved it. LETS GO BARRY!:flag:

Perhaps. But I prefer him at backup point over Vaughn in this series.

Pop will play him and not Udoka or Vaughn for at least the next game - remember early in the season he was insanely good for stretches.

Nope. I want him playing point.

I highly doubt Pop will do that. First because he knows it's important to try and get Finley off. Second, he wants to use Barry as backup PG. And third, he's ur only bench guy outside of Ginobili able to make shots, why the heck would you put him in the starting lineup?

Trust in Pop he will do the right thing.

Next Game:
Parker/Finley/Bowen/Duncan/Thomas
Finley has 3 minutes to show he's on. If not, pull him for Manu. Keep Thomas on Odom as long as he doesn't get into foul trouble
Leave Vaughn to sweep the locker room.

Plus Brent works too well with Manu to play them seperatly.
Brent MFING Barry bitches.

I really liked how Barry helped the flow of the offense with good passes. Even when he's not knocking down everything, he can help the team. If Finley isn't scoring, he's useless. Still, I want to see Finley make his shots.

barry was the x factor tonight. he clearly needs more time. he stretches the d and his passing is contagious. against the lakers, we've got to move the ball more versus trying to run pick and rolls because they are packing the lane. hopefully pop keeps the motion offense rolling.

In a vacuum, I'd say start Barry. But when you put him and Manu on the court at the same time our offense turns lethal to the opposition. Gotta roll the bones with Fin starting, Brent off the bench.

Maybe I jumped the gun with the starting bit but damn it Barry has got to get his minutes boosted, well deserved.

Finley was solid in that third quarter.
Status quo for game 4, keep things as is.

The ball moves better when he is on the floor. He's a liability on defense but his shooting and passing makes up for it.

The two best passers on the team are difficult to counter. The ball is constantly moving when you get those two on the court together. Like you said, Brent needs to stay on the bench and get his minutes behind parker.

I said it before the series started, Lakers defense is suspect to good ball movement. They aren't good at rotating over and making quick decisions.
Brent Barry helps the Spurs ball movement. Putting him in the game gives them not only another shooter, but another good passer.

Great job Brent.
Our offense is much better when he's in

Barry is most useful on the second team because he manufacturers baskets for the others who can't score by themselves.
Starting him and playing him for 3-4 minutes to help kick start the ball movt, then playing him with the bench the rest of the game, might be the best move.

This is true but I really just don't want to see Finley in the lineup at all. What to do then? Start Udoka? Would probably bring better offense than Finley and could guard Odom.

I really hope so, the offense looks so much better with Bones on the floor.
P.S: For all those saying that he needs to come off the bench to play as a backup for Tony, just look at the series vs NO, Manu started the games as a SG but he also played the point when Tony needed a rest.

Status quo for game 4, keep things as is.
Back when we were playing the Hornets, I kept saying that Barry should start the third quarter, to help avoid those dreaded 3rd quarter slumps. His passing and energetic play adds a lot more than Finley's occasional bucket.

Starting quarters, if you can get Finley some shots, not theses 1 shot ever 15 minutes horseshit, and hes making them, this team is unbeatable

Barry as a backup point is where he's most effective. I thought Pop held back on the idea at first because Farmar and Vujacic are pretty quick ... but Barry looked pretty healthy today and he's moving well.
Stay healthy Brent and keep it up :tu

Yup, you and me and a few others. Hell, I was calling for him against the Suns!
I still don't know why Pop didn't give it a real go until now. What does Finley do better? Nothing I can see.

Well, I think that still may be the case. Farmar and Vujacic are fairly young players and new to this. They play a lot better and more aggressive at home than on the road. I'm not sure how effective Barry would be guarding them on the road.
That said, the lineup of Parker, Ginobili, Barry, Duncan, and Bowen can work wonders for the Spurs passing. Lakers defense is weak when it comes to good passing teams.

Now that Gino is back, pop may start him in game 4. What do you think?
