Ginobli gets called for a lane violation tip in and they rule it a jumpball? Should have been Laker ball, no?

I think the ref missed that one.

They called violations on Manu and Odom, therefore the jump ball.

ah, the ref card.

Odom made a lane violation as well. Which negated the basket but in turn needed a jump ball because both teams made lane violations.

Yeah, that one call going the other way really would have stopped the Lakers from losing by 19.

The game was in San Antonio and I paid off a ref.

Hope that helps.

I don't think he was saying that's why lakers lost. Just asking a question...

wtf? who said that had anything to do with the outcome.

Whining about calls is so spur-like....

Interesting. TNT didn't spot that. The violation by Manu was evident on the overhead though.

Apparently to the ref as well.

Exactly. Figured maybe someone at the game got a better explanation. TNT's halftime crew is great but their play by play sucks.

i apologize for my fellow Spurs fans. you didn't say that call was the game decider.

They didn't but Doug Collins did explain it when it happened.

The good thing about that play is ginobili's ability to elevate. Gave me confidence!

My bad, I mis-read the thread title

Thought it was a complaint, lol

Is not a stupid question, I was wondering the same thing, since my transmition never showed where Odon was... is also quite clear that he is not QQ or blaming the loss on calls...

On another board, someone said it should have been another FT attempt since it was a double violation.

lol....

You guys got hosed.

It was the right call...

(6) If there is a free throw violation by each team, on a free throw which is to remain in play, the ball becomes dead, no point can be scored and play shall be resumed by a jump ball between any two opponents at the center circle.

The guy asks a legitimate question and people jump all over him?

Come on, man. THere are a ton of jerk Laker posts--this guy didn't deserve being treated like shit.

:lmao That was a very odd play by Ginobili. He wasn't even on the sidelines on that FT attempt, he came from beyond the circle, the ball was in the air and he was already flying into the lane, about to dunk on the potential miss. I think the replays showed Duncan looking very confused. :lol

that was the worse thing manu did tonight
but I will be happy if that is all he does bad in a game
especially when you score 30

Where did he say this call cost the lakers the game?

Where did he pull out the ref bias card?

He asked a valid question about a call that is rarely seen (especially with the one lane violating coming from above the 3)

You guys are so hostile and then you wonder why opposing teams fans give you shit when you lose. :bang

Yeah, that was pretty stupid and tells you how confident he feels about Oberto's ability to make FT's :lol, anyway it ended up beign a great play for the Spurs 'cause we got the ball back after the jumpball. It was just one of those nights were everything goes the right way.

I liked it. that play was no big deal. Manu just got over excited. The only thing that happened was Oberto made it. :lol

The crowd would have erupted if it went in Manu's favor and he finished that play. Plus Manu always runs to get a potential rebound, especially with Timmy. So basically Manu has NO CONFIDENCE in any of his players shots. :lol

In the first video I can not see, but in the second one it is clear Jordan in inside the 3 point line before the ball leaves the free shooter hands, so maybe you are right and the rule changed?

That violation made me jump! It was great!! Did you see the elevation?! That ankle is finally doing well..

But yeah! i'd take that mistake anytime.. with the 30 pts, the energy and the agressiveness. Thank God Manu's back!

The ankle was never bothering him.

The lane violation call usually isn't made if the FT is made, but Manu was by Oberto when he let the ball go, so I guess the refs couldn't blind their eyes to that.

It is an interesting rule. If the other team commits a lane violation, you get another free throw... basically a chance to score 1 point. If you commit the lane violation, you lose the point. But if you AND the other team commit lane violations, you have a good chance to get a whole new possession out of the deal.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the TNT guys did mention the Odom violation, but anyways, it was the right call.
