The Cicada is a special insect that resides in temperate climates but is well known for thieir odd life cycle. The north American cicada has a 13 to 17 year cycle where they spend most of their life underground as Nymphs and only when conditions are optimal will they emerge and become the flying insect we all know and love. The reason for this strange cycle is that they are able to avoid becoming part of the regular diet of other birds and insects. The cicada has been called locus because of their swarming when they emerge from their numph stage, but they are not locus because they are mostly benign to humans and tend to be nothing more than a loud pest which offers little to the enviroment other than food in the great food chain.

Laker fan is a lot like the cicada. They tend to lay dormant like a nymph because they know it is safer underground away from their enemies. Once every 4 to 6 years they will emerge in great numbers creating an abundance of loud noises but really doing nothing more than creating a new food supply for fans of other teams. Like the cicada they will again retreat back into the underground for an unspecified amount of time to l(ike as a nymph) gain protection from their natural enemies until conditions are optimal where again they will emerge in great number. Many consider Laker fan to be like locus but this is a misnomer because they don't have the destructive capability of locus but rather they, like the cicada just provide a food supply for predator NBA fans such as Spurfan, Sunfan and even Maverickfan.

I would not worry too much about Laker fan I have a feeling they will be entering their Nymph stage again very shortly.

That's very philosophical, considering you're Italian (judging from your user name).
