Harvey Korman of ‘Carol Burnett Show’ dies (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24882071/)
LOS ANGELES - Harvey Korman, the tall, versatile comedian who won four Emmys for his outrageously funny contributions to “The Carol Burnett Show” and on the big screen in “Blazing Saddles,” died Thursday. He was 81.
Korman died at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said in a statement released by the hospital.
His daughter, Kate Korman, said in the statement that it was a “miracle” that her father had survived the aneurysm at all, and that he had several major operations.
He and Tim Conway worked so well together. I miss that kind of comedy.

Harvey was good at comedy. What he was bad at was keeping a straight face and himself in character when in a sketch with Tim Conway. TC always got him to laugh.

He was funny as hell in the Carol Burnett Show, but I also loved his performances in the Mel Brooks movies.
He was a true talent.

Any time Tim Conway cracked him was an instant classic because you could tell he was fighting it so hard. Thanks for all the laughs, and rest in peace.

That would always crack me up more than anything else.
The closest anyone got to that was Chirs Farley acting the fool and going overboard while David Spade and Victoria Jackson buried their faces into their shirts because they couldn't stop laughing during the "Motivational Speaker" skit on SNL. Even Phil Hartman was fighting off the laughter.

That was sometimes the best part of the show, just to watch TC break up Harvey

Add to it composer Alexander Courage: the creator of the theme to the original Star Trek series, he passed on May 28th.
