Loft, the beer in the middle is made by the New Belgium Brewing Company, in Fort Collins, Colorado (home of Colorado State University).

Actually, it was an Irish theme last night - I cooked an Irish lamb stew to go with the Guinness - the food was just on the shelf under the beer.

bullshit. this is the problem in a nutshell, you want someone else to pay for your education yet you want to drink beer and eat well while you are in school. this is why your whining about how life is so unfair rings hollow, especially considering how much time you spend posting in here about it.

Really? So me advocating smarter spending of government money is crying about how life is unfair?

I think you have a problem with reading. But don't worry, you're not the only one in here who has that problem. It seems that everytime I post about anything having to do with college students and the rising cost of education I am asking for handouts.

Once again, every dime put forth torwards my education has come fromone place and one place alone. My paycheck. Not that it has anything to do with this thread.

But go for it, go back to the education threads and do a bit of rereading. Go back and find the posts where I do the following:

1. Ask for someone to pay for my school
2. Advocate higher tax rates in order to pay for tuition across the board
3. whine about how it's unfair to me.

I realize that many of the people in here who have no problem with the amount of government spending in regards to the military or wars have problems with smarter allocation of funds for education (which bring back a return, how much of a return do you think we'll be seeing on the forgien spending?).

I realize that many of hte people who support corporate welfare such as the SBC center and the PGA village do so because they believe it brings money into the community. Yet many of those same people don't want to invest in higher education regardless of it bringing back a larger amount of funding into the community.

So yes, I know why my threads ring hollow with people like you. You fail to grasp the entire picture I am trying to paint because you're too damn busy looking for the sail boat hidden in a 3d image that doesn't exist.

oh so youre just bitching to bitch because you cant pay for school and eat and drink well

there is already plenty of "investment" in higher education and to help people attend. but a fridge full of beer and chowing down at pf changs isnt a part of that equation

whats wrong with pointing out your own personal hypocrisy? between loans, grants, parents, and part time jobs there is certainly a way to pay for a public university education in the state of texas, provided you arent blowing your money on irrelevant shit

and guess what i dont think there should be any corporate welfare and the current level of military spending is too high.

the problem is that kids like you were raised with a consumer mentality. ditto for your parents. everything has to be had now. thats why so many motherfuckers are in credit card debt up to their eyeballs.

man dont tell this forum that life is rough for a college student and then post pics of high end beer and what not. i have zero sympathy for your plight.

If you think a picture of a 12 pack of beer in a fridge is an indication of how hard life is, well then more power to you.

I don't know how this has to do anything with a consumer mentality, which I know I don't have either. But you woudln't know that because you don't read my posts for their actual content.

I have friends who are currently living at the SAMM shelter or skipping from friends house to friends house because their loan checks just don't go very far.

Well, your screen name would be much more appropriate as Stupid Kitty, but whatever floats your boat.

BTW, the beer in that fridge cost less than a 12pk of bud light, 10 freaking bucks. Damn your incorrect assumptions. Oh, and the meal we had tonight, total of 8 dollars from HEB. Now excuse me while I go jump in my Escalade and go out and drop 500 on a bar tab.

MannyIsGod

actually, 24 hours a day, and it's amazing my gf stays with me with all my mooching..

You're welcome to come by Jims (Fred and 410) Wednesday at 9pm to talk to said students about tuition rereg. I'm sure they'd appreciate your outstanding intellectual insight on how college life for them is peachy based on a picture.

commuter college degree

See, you're the perfect example of what happens when an education system just doesn't live up to it's potential.

The word you are looking for is community. And I'm enrolled in program that eds at a University, therefore it's not a "commuter college" degree.

:lol

violentkitten

You know, I ate Ramen for almost every meal of every day my freshman year of college - and what happened?

A. - Got sick of it.
B. - Blood pressure went up (thanks to high sodium)
C. - Dropped over 30 pounds.
D. - Saved a few dollars - but was it worth it?

The meals I cook are no expensive, I'm not doing beef tenderloin with truffles everyday - and I'm trying to stay a little healthier than I used to. You can't do that on a Ramen budget. I know Manuel mentioned that the beer cost less than Bud, and it did - so for every case of Bud you bought in college, you can suck it.

Bitch, I'm am not "the little woman", and the reason I am arguing here is not for Manuel, because quite frankly, I try to stay out of his arguments as he is more than self-righteous enough on this forum for the both of us. I took personal offense at your unfounded accusation. Portabello mushrooms and some beer in the fridge is not living the "high life". I am busting my ass as a full time history and American studies double major - when I am not reading or writing papers I am usually asleep or close to it. I have loans out and work when I can in addition to the support I am lucky enough to have from my parents - because without their help there's no way I could do this. I don't have enough time to work to make enough money to support myself while at school - so there's no need to guilt-trip me for having beer in my fridge and a portabello sandwich (which happens to be cheaper than eating meat).

How did this thread go from him being on a leash to me being on one?

He doesn't live with me; I'd kill him. And I don't date vagrants that wander from girlfriend's apartment to girlfriend's apartment as you are insinuating. I would have thought you could gather by now that I don't take kindly to being taken advantage of.

Oh, and don't condescend to me with the "honey" bullshit.

good arguments on both sides. im torn as to who i agree with. is having a fridge full of beer "living it up"? not really.. i dont know anyone involved in this argument so i cant make much of an assumption of anyone, but i do work full time and pay all my own bills,(rent, car pymt, insurance, EVERY SINGLE BILL myself) and I could have beer in my fridg, I just choose to have apple juice.

Well, I hope you've gotten your kicks for the week, because I am not dignifying any of your future condescending remarks with a response. It's pointless to try, and it's obvious that you are a close-minded ass. If you're trying to piss me off, all you've done is made me depressed that some people are still so immature and unempathetic.

For the record: I like beer. I like lamb and portabello mushrooms. I like kittens, and even though I've never met one I understand that Mexicans are likeable as well. So I don't see what the problem is here.
