This is sort of looking too ahead in the future, but IIRC the Spurs can hand out some major cash that year. Also, that same year, IIRC, most of the 2003-2004 draft class will be off of their contracts. Realistically speaking, what are the chances of the Spurs courting a big name player with a max contract to the Spurs? Tim Duncan will still be dominant, TP will still be in his prime, Manu would still be able to contribute, hopefully we'll have a well developed Ian and Splitter, so the team personnel will be appealing. Market size or winning championships? Which plays a bigger role?
