I know we are all upset about the Spurs loss and all the woulda, coulda shoulda's. I just wanted to draw your attention to a thread in The Club from one of our forum members, PakiDan.

http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97487

Dan just found out this week that he's going to need a heart transplant. He's just 31. I just wanted you all to know (in case you don't visit The Club). Please keep Dan in your thoughts (and prayers if you pray).

For me, his post put things into perspective about the loss of a basketball game.

I'm sure the Spurs will do what they need to do this summer and continue with their winning tradition.

Pray and good thoughts to Dan in his battle.

I agree. After reading his thread, the Spurs elimination just didn't seem so important.

Prayers for Dan.

As for perspective, I know what you mean Kori. I could not really even enjoy watching the games this year because of a high risk pregnancy. I am 7+ months pregnant and could not jump around and vent as I could in years past. Protecting the baby is more important to me at this point.

Yep, it's only basketball.

Best of luck, PakiDan.

My prayers will be with him. My father passed away exactly a month to the day before the Spurs were eliminated by the Mavs in 2006 so that didn't hit me as hard as it should have. Basketball is just a game and we forget that sometimes. Thanks Kori and good luck PakiDan!

ive learned life is filled with ups and downs....that saying sorry is a sign of weakness....nothing counts as much as blood, everything else is just strangers....and a persons smile is just as good as anothers....in the end we are all alone...just you and your maker......god bless

Not to hijack the thread, but if you could all keep my uncle in your prayers along with Dan. He won't be with us much longer.

Most of us are here worried about basketball here, when a good member of SpursTalk has their life at risk.

Fuck the Spurs.
It's all about PakiDan right now.

I think the Spurs players need to bust out some bravatars for Paki.

That's scary. And yes, in the end, it's just a basketball game.

I hope he pulls through and the operation is successful. My prayers are with him.

Hey, this basketball thing is just a life diversion. What Paki is going through is real. Prayers are with you. If Paki, or someone on his behalf, will PM me, I may be able to put him in contact with a friend in SA who went through a similar experience three years ago and is alive and well now.

Basketball is just basketball.

I hope everything goes well for Dan and his family. There are more important things in life than NBA games.

So please keep fighting, Dan.
