WTF are you talking about. This is Game 1 and they are playing at home. The Spurs blew LA out by 20+ when they played their 1st home game.

LAL typically plays better on the road as the series goes on. Your best chance at beating them is in that 1st home game.

That game was a totally different situation. Spurs were not going to go down 0-3. Gimpy Manu just got hot.
What you fail to see is by comparison, Boston as a unit is showing signs that they can play 48 minutes. Spurs as a unit sucked. They had no killer instinct without Manu leading the way, every one else sucked. Barry tried, but he was utilized pretty late. Spurs went through the motions. Boston has energy. They're doing the hustle plays that we were too old to do.

Even in Game 1, when we were ahead by 20 points in the third, something was off about the teams expressions. They totally gave up in the 4th, not because they wanted to but Spurs seemd like the conceded when their lead was reduced to two by the 2 minute mark. How many steals and TO's did we force on you guys?

The differences in this series is already glaring! :lol

Of course I'm just commenting on what I see now. Boston could choke this game in the 4th, and the point is moot.

The Spurs didn't give up. They were just exhausted. After the Hornets series, they needed a couple days rest for their old legs and never got it, and the plane fiasco in NO was just the cherry on the top.

I know the Spurs didn't give up. But their body language showed they were too gassed to dive for loose balls by the WCF. (Manu getting taken down by Odom on that one play after the missed three)

The Celtics did what I thought they might do, protect their home court. But LA will keep coming at you, they always do. We'll see if the Celtics can keep up in Game 2.
What should be worrisome is that Kobe hasn't played well against the Celtics in all 3 games they've played.

Boston 32-76

LAL basically got outplayed the entire 2nd half. The two straight 3's from Pierce was the turning point IMHO, all caused by lazy defense from Kobe. He really had about as bad a game as you can have on both ends of the floor. That being said, I don't count Kobe out ever.

It's a bit strange how this game mirrored the previous series with DET. In that game DET was hanging in there the whole way through until the 4th when the Celtics pulled away and won by I believe 10 or so points. They came back in Game 2 and played a very spirited and high energy game and stole one on the road.

I expect LAL to come out in a similar fashion and steal Game 2.

Davis' comeback was in a first round game, against a team that had already given up. Davis coming back provided zero emotional boost because the Warriors were gonna kick the Mavs ass regardless of whether he came back or not. Comparing it to Willis Reed might be the single dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum.

why? :lol

there's a great article over at 82games.com written by the founder who himself did a play by play analysis of the Sacramento/LA Lakers WCF game 6 that Donaghy claimed was one that the NBA pushed the refs to help the Lakers win.

I recommend that anyone who still believes in conspiracies by Stern and the NBA front office reads it.
