The Spurs (35-10) only have three games left before the Jan. 6 cutoff for determining the All-Star coaches.
vs. New Orleans
@ Seattle
@ Lakers

The Suns (34-10) have five left -- four of which are on the road.
@ Boston
@ Toronto
@ Memphis
@ Minnesota -- this game will be the sixth road game in nine nights.
vs. New York

Who's going to the All-Star game?

Suns will probably lose at Memphis and Minnesota. The Spurs could drop Sonics and maybe Lakers.

Should be a close race.

if both teams win out, does pop or D'antoni coach? because pop has the better head to head... but d'antoni has more wins

Well barring any dramatic upsets by some of the lesser teams, hopefully the Spurs sweep these three games, although Seattle may be a possible loss. Phoenix could lose to Minny and Memphis. Thier high octane offense may run out of gas by the time this road trip is over. With all this in mind I still see Pop on the sidelines for the All-Star game.

DŽantoni have a little adventage
If San Antonio Lost 1 game, Phoenix must to lost 2 games
Becasuse with 2-1, San Antonio will be 37-11
With 4-1, Phoenix 38-11

Spurs need to win out and hope Phoenix loses 1 game for Pop to get the job.
Phoenix has tie breaker because they will be 1/2 game up on SA.

I still think Pho will lose two....although I also thought Rose was done firing the ball 80 MPH into the stands.

Yeah it would suck if Pop got penalized just for playing one less game than Phoenix....

I think the Suns starters will be very tired at the end of this trip and they'll drop the last two.

The Spurs better be focused tomorrow against New Orleans, they can't get caught napping again. But I think they'll win their remaining 3 games.

Good point this is the final stretch of games then the schedule gets easier for us...6 games in 9 nights, wouldn't doubt if they drop 1 or 2 on this trip....

there were some discussions about the top-ranking Spurs that they can play any game against any team in the NBA except the Sonics, the only team who had beaten them @ home.
I want payback.

I don't think reaching it is the problem, it's figuring out that childproof lid that takes real skill.

Back on topic, pop mentioned on one pop show he didn't want it, so let D'Antoni have it.

The two toughest games come at the end. This stretch is the end of a tough January for the Suns. Though the Suns have seemed to find their rythem again winning their last 4 games. Playing the East seems to have that effect this season.

However, Memphis and Minnesota are though matchups for the Suns.

I expect the Spurs to win out so you guys might have to root for the T'Wolves to get Pop the All Star gig.

They showed the Suns v Spurs game here in Melbourne last week (2 games a week during the regular season, showing only ESPN games on Wesnesday and and Friday - in American time). This means there is probably only one or two Spurs games a month, sometimes none, but what a great game to see, so thrilled I got to witness the "Game O' The Season".

After this game, they would have to choose Pop with all records aside. If Spurs get over the Seattle hump Pop can consider himself an All-Star coach, Spurs already beat Hornets and Lakers have to beat Spurs with a Plan B strategy.

Stan van Gundy has officially been named East All-Stars coach. Heat's record before cut-off date is unbeatable.
