One of the best defensive guards in the country.

According to the newest RealGM mock:

26. Kyle Weaver
Combo Guard. Washington State

Weaver can play both guard positions, can defend at an extremely high defensive level against three positions and is the intangible player who fits San Antonio's system perfectly. His perimeter shot needs a lot of work, but he does enough other things well to be an immediate contributor on a Spurs' team that needs to get better quickly.

It's good to see Weaver on some Spurstalk.

I saw him play in high school in the state championship when I was a little frosh attending James Madison Memorial high.

The first round playoff between Beloit and Memorial was a good one....

Well here.. You can read it here.

Wes Matthews vs Kyle Weaver. Was a great matchup and game.

Enjoy!

i think he will be great second round pick, he can backing up Parker and he also can play a little bit with Parker

Washington State's Kyle Weaver, Mississippi State's Jamont Gordon and Turkish big man Omer Asik are three players who are getting some serious interest from teams in the 20s.

I like Weaver decently enough but I hope he's not the Spurs pick at 26. He's pretty inept offensively and defense doesn't always translate to the NBA. A swingman who isn't an offensive threat and isn't overly athletic isn't what this team needs.

The bad news is that if the Spurs really want a wing, they might have to look at a player like Weaver because all the other wings could be gone.

Weaver in the second round would be outstanding. First round, not so much. At least trade into the early second with multiple picks if they're that high on him.

I do think he'd be better at facilitating the offense than some suspect. He had three years shooting above 46% from the field, with a slight drop-off his senior year. However, he took more threes that year, and raised his accuracy to 36% there (on an admittedly small sample size). Good rebounder for a guard, great passer, and of course, a defensive stalwart. There's a lot to like.

he's one of those players that you love when he's on your team and hate it when he isn't. I 'm really pulling for him.
