For me it's the Socom series, Me and my brothers would stay on all night playing 1,2,3 and combined assault. Clan wars every night threw game battles. I have drop at least 1000 hours easy on that series threw out the years me and my brothers. One of them was rank number 1 in game battles in the single matches all threw Socom 1 never lost.

Second game would have to be Phansty Star Online for the dreamcast. My brother somehow became a god to other player on that game. He would get into a room and they would drop him super rare items just because it was him, I never understood it but he did play that allot more than me.

Final Fantasy VII, or Counter-Strike.

I played FFVII during my last year of High School exams, rather than study. Close to 100 hours i think.
Thankfully, i didnt stuff up my exams!

Counter-Strike i played constantly with a group of friends for like 5 years. Addicted. Then, came life, and Counter-Strike ended.

The Grand Theft Auto series starting with the PS one version in 98. I would play for 8 hours straight, just running around killing people. Same thing goes for almost every GTA game since. I am now hooked on GTA4.

Straight up. I didn't play first two, but I have gotten addicted to each of the subsequent ones. Especially Vice City. I've played Vice City more than any human alive I think.

I've played all the Maddens, Ocarina and Golden Eye a lot too, but not anywhere close to GTA.

GTA3 fucking ruled. If you have it on PC, you gotta check some of the Odie/Illspirit mods. They had a roller coaster you could drive on, car jumps from 5,000 feet up, a place to shoot down planes, and lots of other cool shit.

I played the shit out of GTA3 when it came out. I even spent hours playing the cab missions, which were really lame but I just couldn't put the game down. I had all the secret garages unlocked with any car you wanted. It was great.

It was the best playing strangers in person. It's kinda like online gaming now, but it's not a bunch of kids talking shit. You had to back it up

When I was a kid it was Gauntlet. I got addicted to that game and I would use my lunch money to play it. Then one day the lunch lady got tired of me not paying for my food so she narc'd me out and parents wouldn't let me play it anymore. When gears of war came out my friends would play all the time. Then we got our wives hooked on it so we got to play even longer.

GTA Vice City. I don't know how many hours I've spent playing it. Just and unbelievable game. It doesn't cut into your day, you can just turn it on and play for 20 mins and then turn it off (Unless it's a really, really good game I can't play it for more than 1 hour at a time ie KOTOR). Over a long period of time these minutes have piled up quite a bit.

I'm betting that I have played over 6,000 hours of counterstrike. No, I'm not kidding or exaggerating. I have lost weeks of my life to that game at a time in college. I played 52 hours straight stopping only to eat and go to the bathroom in that time. And there are people I know who have played it a lot more than I have.

In no order:

Counterstrike 1.4-1.6, CS: Source
Final Fantasy III
WoW (sad as that is to admit. I don't play anymore)
Starcraft (still awesome)
Killer Instinct
Virtua Fighter 4
Zelda LttP

Final Fantasy VII

Tecmo Super Bowl (probably 50+ seasons)
Chrono Trigger
Goldeneye 64
Super Mario Kart (SNES)
Gran Turismo

The Legend of Zelda series, easily.

I was playing Legend of Zelda addictively by the time I was four. My nephews couldn't even pick up a Genesis controller at that age.

Beat every game up through Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask just totally lost my interest, and I had a hard time supporting Nintendo after it went GameCube.

But still, so many hours spent in the land of Hyrule, it's ridiculous.
