It's Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday no matter which day it starts on.

I don't mind that it's not every other day, but why can't they schedule a couple of games on Friday or Saturday?

Friday and Saturday are the worst two days of the week to get people to watch TV. Friday because most people go out at the end of the work week (this is why movies come out on Fridays). Saturday for similar reasons, people have the day off and most spend it with their family. Sunday and Thursday are historically the best days of the week for TV.
