I hope this hasn't already been posted--I thought it was pretty insightful.

Interesting that he said several teammates rolled their eyes and gave him a bad look after Kobe walked away. His teammates must not really respect him.

Thanks for posting this article, foodie.

Just looking at Kobe makes me ill, so it was interesting to read schilling's take - especially since he was viewing this through non-biased eyes.
I can imagine KB wears on the nerves of his teammates. I doubt he's turned over the new leaf he's been bragging about.
Sure he can score alot of points, but it doesn't make him a leader.
Kobe as MVP was a joke, in my eyes.

:soapbox: OK...I'm done now.

Interesting to hear what he had to say about Gasol as well, "A 7-footer who grab 4 rebounds and bitched about every call all night". Just more reasons for me not to want the Lakers to win. I doubt the Lakers can keep everyone they want to keep if they don't win and Kobe is grating on people's nerves like that.

Astute observation.

Can't blame his teammates after the way Kobe threw them all under the bus before the season started.

WOW, I hope that was some weird celebration.

Ive looked at it and it doesn't appear that Radman or that assitant coach are in a joyful mood.

I don't know how anyone could take that type of behavior. If that was me, he definately would've gotten an elbow as a response.

I've seen Kobe act like this towards his teammates way before Schilling ever pointed it out.

Starts to actually talk about the NBA around the 5th paragraph.

I also think the reason Kobe is a dick to his teammates is because he really wants to win, I've read many articles on Kobe's competitive nature and his love for basketball/winning so this is not suprising, Jordan was the exact same way. I remember reading an SI article and a quote that stuck out to me was when Kobe was asked about Pop and Kobe responded that he looks forward to being coached under him again and go through his rigorous practices again.

Man, if Kobe was palying for the SPurs, Pop would have sent him to Guantanamo Bay for 2 months

Kobe didnt change at all imo, if he hadnt got gasol and if Bynum hadnt improved he would probably still be whining about being traded. But dont get me wrong, I think thats just his nature. The man wants to win and I dont blame him, his teammates probably realize that he is just trying to win so they wont take what he says personally. Just my two cents.

Dunno why people are calling Schilling an asshole. He does tend to run off his mouth more than he should (the general consesus even among Red Sox Nation) but they are almost always observations and deductions, not personal attacks/throwing teammates under the bus/complaining/random smack/declarations that his team will chase the best record in baseball. I trust the things he said are pretty accurate.

And on a side note, Josh Beckett will always be a Spurs fan first!

Kobe has never been the type to kiss your ass when you fuck up. He gets in your face and lets you know it, it's his style. These Lakers are a very tight-knit group despite Kobe being a "tyrant". It's a non issue IMHO.
