The 97-98 Jazz team and it's not even close. In fact that team is one of the best teams of all-time not to win a title.

That Pacers team would have gone all the way had it not been for some BS calls down the stretch. I still think that besides the Bulls, the Pacers had one of the all time best teams in the NBA.

Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Del Davis, Antonio Davis, Derrek McKey. They got hosed!

and how about game 6 where the bulls got owned by the ref in terms of fouls not being called late in the third quarter? If I remember correctly the bulls had the momentum by their side til the refs fucked it up

Wow, I wouldn't even go that far! But thanks for the props, i definetly fell in love with the franchise and organization because of that group. And for those that say the 98 Jazz I completely disagree. They were not the second best team that year, Indiana was. the Bulls needed shady officiating to beat Indiana and six games to beat Utah.

The best core group of the Pacers' title runs in the '90s, with the possible exception of 1999-2000. (I still think the 1997-1998 team was better.) The only real flaw was overreliance on jumpshooting. However, the Pacers' teams of that era could normally get away with that. If Smits had been able to play at a high level for the last few seasons of his career, I think that core group would have had a title.

We used to be just brutal to Brik Mitts at the end. I now realize that he was in worse shape than he let on.

Easily the 96 Sonics. Now everyone forgot how dominant a player Shawn Kemp used to be. They had sick outside shooting with Hersey Hawkins and Detlef Schrempf, not to mention Sam Perkins. Plus, Gary Payton back when he was The Glove and the best point guard in the game. They're the sentimental favorite too since Frank Brickowski was on the team.

No way can Utah be there since Malone was such a choking bitch. Too bad for Stockton, one of the great clutch players in NBA history.

You could make a great argument for the Suns too. Barkley was a monster, as was KJ. Majerle was athletic, and Richard Dumas was great for that year and a half or so when he was off the coke.

That 98 team was far better than the one that went to the Finals in 2000. The 2000 Pacers were frustrating to watch, the way they ran the offense through Jalen Rose instead of the vastly superior Reggie Miller.

Yea, I change my mind. If I had to pick a team for one year, it would be that Sonics team.

I loved the 98 Pacers, but Reggie should have gotten an offensive foul for pushing off on Jordan at the end of game 6.

It's clearly between the Sonics and the Suns.

I would give it to the Suns because they were the one team that clearly had the Bulls way outclassed in terms of talent. They unfortunately had D'Antoni version 1.0 coaching them.
