Watching this up and down pesky game last night on NBA package out of the corner of my eye while doing some late work, and heard Sean say something about Beno out and reason= but did not catch what he said. Instead Wilks all the minutes.

With that little bug from Gonzaga running around like a crazed hornet it would have been a good time for a Slovian #*& whippin from a real great rookie PG.

What was up with him sitting all night - just a planned thing?

Just found this:

"Spurs backup point guard Beno Udrih sat out with a shoulder strain. ."

AP wire

Hope this is not going to be chronic big step down Beno to Wilks.

It was reported on the local TV broadcast and repeated in the Game Blog regarding the shoulder being dinged when Beno got "tangled up" with Mike Bibby. Beno was in uniform. He was held out of action as a precaution.

Here is the Express-News article from this morning with a couple of other bits of info.

Spurs notebook: Udrih sidelined by shoulder injury

The Spurs held Beno Udrih out of Saturday's game after he strained his right shoulder two nights earlier against Sacramento.

Udrih injured his shoulder when Kings point guard Mike Bibby fouled him as he drove to the rim.

Udrih was in uniform Saturday, but Spurs coach Gregg Popovich opted to use Mike Wilks to spell Tony Parker.

It is the first game Udrih has missed this season. He likely will be questionable for Monday's game in Seattle.

"He's real sore," Popovich said. "He has a hard time lifting his arm. It will take a couple more days — that's what we're hoping."

With about 30 secs left in the game, Pop was looking down the bench and Beno got up to go in, smiling. Just a joke. Sean Elliot commented NOT to go in so late because it ruins a player's stats, since 30 secs, but no stats, counts as a whole game in the per-game averages calculations.
