Is it just me of has somebody else noticed that Manu's shot from mid range has been getting better later. Before the Suns game last week, most of Manu's points from the field were either threes or layups.

Since the Suns game, he seems to be shooting with more confidence from between 12 and 20 feet.

Hope he can keep up with this trend.

It's been said that to be a top shooting guard on this league you have to master the fade away jumper, and I noticed he is starting to nail those more frecuently.

he's definately improved the mid-range jumper, wich even makes him more deadly.

Earlier, it seemed he was either driving or taking3's (sorta like Brent, too), so I'm very pleased to see him moving into the mid-range now. With the way Manu likes to run around, he could be our own version of catch-and-shoot Richard Hamilton.

Tim doubled could look for Manu coming towards him to catch it for short jumper or drive.

I think Manu probably has a lot more offensive game than we get to see usually on the Spurs. If he was on a team where he could get the majority of the shots his numbers would be right there with the league leaders.

I haven't looked but Manu has to rank very near the top of the "points per shot" catagory doesn't he?

Tony worked on his shooting this summer, and he still sucks at the FT line, and on 3G's.

Long two's (18 feet to the three point line)

Ginobili is 6th worst shooter from that distance. (Bowen is no. 1 in this category)

I hate that shot. It's worth only 2, it's difficult, and if you miss, you ignite the break the other way more times than not. Shoot the trey, take it to the rack, or pull up for a 12-15 footer.

To respond to your question Smeagol, I have noticed it also. Scoring in space is the key to improved scoring % and Manu is starting to figure things out.

Manu has had to adjust to how teams are playing them. He has the ball in his hands more than previous seasons. Teams are playing zone defenses more than last year. You either penetrate the zone or find the seams. Manu has done both of these with great success.
