I guess I wasn't as surprised at this let down as most Laker fans probably are. I saw that as soon as Doc went small we were having serious problems both defending and scoring against them. This happened just before the 1st half ended. From there on out it was a downhill battle.

The Lakers just couldn't defend or score against the Celtics small lineup. If there is anything positive to take away from this it's that Phil will have 3 days to figure out how to stop that small ball lineup. We've shown we can blow out their traditional lineup with Perk and Rondo, now we must figure out how to stop the small ball lineup.

If we do that there is a legitimate chance LA can win Game 5. They will lose Game 6 though, I don't see LA winning that one unless Kobe has a miracle game.

I doubt the Lakers will be able to win 3 games in a row. That means great defense and a perfect game from Kobe. Both are things that have not consistently happened in these Finals. There's always a chance, but highly unlikely. We gave away a game that was in the bag. Celtics wanted it more and never gave up, while the Lakers thought the Celtics would just fold up and wait till game 5. Monumental collapse. This probably means the end for Odom, his inconsistency is just way too much for the Lakers to overcome. So close, but yet so far this year.

I disagree. We lost this game the moment Doc decided to stop playing Perkins and Rondo. We just could not score or defend against them at all.

What happened from the 2nd half onwards reminds me exactly of what the Warriors did to the Mavericks in '06. Small ball lineup created mismatches the Lakers just couldn't exploit. We'll see if they can figure it out in Game 5.

I dont know about you guys , but im seriously dieing inside right now , i cant believe what just happened. worst part of it all is i have a final tomorrow and i havent even started studying yet and dont know how i am.

We're done.

Kobe sucked and will probably suck again in the finals if we get here again.

The economy is down.

50% of us will develop prostate cancer in our lifetime.

All of us will die.

No SportsCenter. No LA Times. Not answering the calls already starting to come in from Lakerhater friends. Pop a Xanax to take the mind off this thing. That's my plan.

This feels like getting hit in the gut with a baseball bat. No, this is worse.

1) The Lakers are going to make history by coming back from a 3-1. We'll be remembered, instead of just being the ''2008 Champions'', we'll be the ''Record setting 2008 Champions''.

2) Go register on a Boston forum and troll it. That's how I coped with going down 2-0.

Celts have blown a 2-0 lead and a 3-2 lead in a 7 game series twice this year. This is their first 3-1 lead of the playoffs. New territory for them. That's cute that they have a 3-1 lead and made a big comeback tonight but none of this shit means a god damn thing if they dont win the ring. Win 1 more game and then the Celts will fully convince me of them being champions.

Until then they are a nice little team with a 3-1 series lead.

Lakers were up by 24, small ball lineup or not no way you should let a team come back when you're up by 24. What happened is Lakers were playing nonchalantly, shooting jumpers and stopped boxing out. The shooters got cold and Kobe couldn't put him on his back like usual. Pau and Odom disappeared, the rest is history. This was not some great small ball strategy from Doc Rivers. It was the Lakers stopped driving to the basket and settled for a bunch of jumpers. Of course the Celtics were able to score at will against them with House instead of Rondo, but I'm pretty sure that would have happened regardless of the lineup (Lakers are not a great defensive team). When Garnett, Pierce, and Allen are on the Celtics are pretty much impossible to stop on the offensive end.

Of course it's not over all Lakers have to do is win at home and then one on the road and we're back to an anything can happen game 7. Highly unlikely, but the Lakers are not out of it yet. This is were Boston's big 3 have to show their experience, keep going and don't let up. Hopefully Doc River's inexperience rears it's ugly head. Highly unlikely with the great coaching job he's been doing.
