He would have been a better pickup than Udoka, but not as cheap for a tax-strapped team. Now, he'd be another old guy on a team of them. I wouldn't be in favor of getting him unless you move Barry or Udoka. The only oldster wing coming off the books is Finley, and we desperately need to get younger in his spot.

Posey is a nigga, he won't come to the Spurs. Too clean cut for him. No way it ever happens.

Posey used to play for the Rockets. The guys is crazy athletic and he scraps for every loose ball. He can take it to the hole pretty well too and is a great lock down defender. As a role player he's exactly what you want because he's got a great basketball IQ. Posey is one of the reasons the Miami Heat won their championship and now has the Celtics rolling. Ever wonder why guys like Horry and Posey end up on Championship teams? These guys have really good business sense and opt into great situations in free agency. That and a bit of luck during trades. Other than that Posey is the type of guy that would put you over the top.

He's one of those "pieces" you need on a championship squad. We'd love to have him.

If he were available, I'd hope the Spurs would show interest.

He would take most of the MLE, so i think that rules him out.

I'd love for him to be on the team though.

I don't see Boston giving up Posey or House... they are a big part of that teams success this season. Would love to have either one on the roster...

I honestly think everyone is overrating him over the game yesterday... I've paid alot of attention to the dude since his memphis days... and he used to be a good player there... since going to Miami and now to Boston... he's been nothing but mediocre... he makes the shots his given.. just like every nba player should

uhh... so you noticed the energy... umm ok..

I think the Spurs need more than someone who has more energy than an average nba player.

The title of the thread should read..."The Spurs NeedED James Posey Four Years Ago"...while he is a nice role player, once again he is too old & wants too much money...I agree with the people saying it is hypocritical to want Posey, but yet we must "get younger"

Hell, why would Posey give up his player option (3.4mil) when he can stay and defend the title there? No way he leaves Boston unless he gets an outrageously overpriced offer from some other team.

And anyway, yeah, we need youth. Love Posey's game, but not right now for the Spurs. If he wanted to come here after next year and take over Bruce's spot during the transition to younger players, fine, but once again, why would he? He'll probably finish his career a Celtic.

I believe I started this Posey thing a few days back...

unfortunately, if the Celts win this championship, I doubt if they would ever consider letting him go.

Spurs could get a posey clone...

You think Posey will really get more than $3M on the open market? I don't. He a piece of the puzzle, with no great value to any team that isn't a legit championship contender. His career is also wildly inconsistent. He's had three complete seasons where he's shot below 38% from the field, and one where he shot 48%. Which Posey are you getting?
