Duno if this has been posted but according to L'Equipe (a french newspaper) TP has agreed to play for the French NT this summer, after the news of Gomis' injury (he is the starting PG for france when TP is absent)

The exact terms of the agreement haven't been disclosed yet but he is now part of the list of 27 french players who are going to play qualification games for the 2009 Euro.

It is said that he will show up at the first day of the camp (Vichy), but he won't train with the team at first. My guess is that French coach will try to compose a team without him at first and then, if things would look ugly without him, he'll come in latter. French NT can't allow themselves not to qualify for Eurobasket 2009 and Tony knows his responsibility.
I like it, he still plays for the love for the game, not just for the money.

Tony Parker - Catherine Steenkeste/FFBB

He will be with the team but won't practice. NT coach said "in case of another injury, we could eventually think at calling him for playing".

Parker playing with the NT this summer is still unlikely.

Other injuries from french PGs or repetitive losses will determine Parker's summer.

Parker playing for the French NT now means that the Spurs are going to have to be even more careful limiting the big 3's minutes. Parker is already gonna be sorta tired once he gets into training camp, so this probably means the Spurs take an even harder look at drafting Mario Chalmers.

The French Federation denied Parker participation to the qualification.
They say it was a misunderstanding.

Parker need his rest...NBA season and not to mention too much Eva Longoria at home. That would be bad for his knee. Please spend more time with Chip, sharping 3's n Charity line. The hell with France, stay in San Antonio

Yeah f you Parker! How dare you think about accompanying your nation's team as it competes for a spot on the world's largest stage! Won't somebody think of the ST posters first?

I don't trust whoever was in charge of the France squad. the Coach or whoever.

Weren't they the reason Parker kept playing despite being injured last Summer? Which inadvertently led to his bone spurs or whatever.

Hopefully Parker's chances are very low.
