JAVON FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN VEGAS
Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2008, 8:19 p.m.

As rumor has it, Raiders owner Al Davis thinks that receiver Javon Walker is the key to the team’s 2008 season.

If that’s the case, it might be time to start making plans for the first overall pick in the 2009 draft.

Walker, who has a bad knee that traces to a torn ACL in 2005, was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street on Monday morning, according to FOX 5.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, and is in fair condition with a fracture to an orbital bone.

Per media reports, Walker was seen on Saturday night spraying the crowd at Tryst night club with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne he had ordered.

What a fool. Just signed a huge contract with Raiders. A second chance for him. He may get cut!

That guy has been cashed in on one good season twice already.

This guy doesn't want to play ball.

Perfect kind of player for the Raiders.

WALKER WUZ ROBBED
Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2008, 10:46 p.m. EDT

Updating prior reports, FOX 5 in Las Vegas now reports that Raiders receiver Javon Walker was robbed in Las Vegas on Monday morning.

Walker was found unconscious with a fractured orbital bone. He is hospitalized in fair condition.

Various readers have forwarded information to us about the potential consequences of a fractured orbital bone, which is fancy doctor talk for “eye socket.” Depending on the severity of the fracture, Walker could miss plenty of time.

How many stories like this will we hear before some sports franchise starts putting "you can't set foot inside the Las Vegas city limits" clauses in their contracts?

Either that or he's a complete dumbass. I really do not have a clue what's going on in this guys head.

I don't think it has as much to do with the Darrent Williams thing as it does that he's a complete jackass.

I'm not saying the guy doesn't attract attention or isn't a moron but you guys are reaching pretty far if this was in fact a case where a guy was beaten and mugged. Potentially could of happened to anyone.

The expectation that well off young men are to refrain from having a good time in the off season is absurd. The guy probably made the mistake of walking alone.

I was thinking the exact same thing just now.

Hopefully he will be ready to go when the season starts... the Raiders really need him... BADLY. hes the most talented reciever we have had in a loong time, aside from Porter whom i still think is among the most gifted recievers in the league, but always was hurt and got stuck in AWFUL situations, although not having a great attitude to fight through those issues didnt help much either.

If he's getting trashed doing a "hey look at me, I'm Javon Walker and I play in the NFL" thing then he attracted this.

Keep asking for trouble and it will find you. These guys can't seem to handle clubs.

But again..IF IF IF IF IF

He of all people should know better. When dumbass Brandon Mitchell did that same act at a club in Denver, Javon wound up with a dead teammate on his lap.

First of all, it's Brandon Marshall. Second, reports have come out saying that Javon and Marshall started the fight initially by spraying champagne all over the club patrons that night in celebration of new years. Which is funny because they had also been knocked out of the playoffs that day as well.

YEAH, Celebrate!!!

Javon puts himself in poor positions by making poor decisions.

I'm not sure I believe he got robbed. Remember the NFL can cancel a contract for any reason except for football related injury. I rather tell the team that owes me millions I was robbed instead of drunk and fell. Don't give them a easy reason to void contract.

I tended bar at the Church and Vinyl when I lived up your way roughly ten years ago. I'm not one bit surprised that nobody stopped the players from spraying the room. The two brothers that own all those clubs have (well, at least used to) several ex-Broncos as investors.

I fucking hated the Church. Turned into way too much of a "rave" type of a place.

Vinyl was also a touch too trendy for me as well.

Having said that, both clubs were oozing with good looking women. I love the Denver bar scene...........well, up to the point that people spray champagne on me.

that sucks, but unfortunately I think he brought it upon himself, if the reports of his partying are true.

hopefully he recovers quickly. The Raiders have a chance to be a really explosive team offensively, and I think they'll surprise a lot of people. But Walker has to be producing for that to happen.

If anything, D-Mac better stay the fuck away from him :madrun

Gosh, I know that if I sprayed champagne on people in a bar in Denver and my friend ended up shot and dead at the end of the night, I'd definately repeat those actions in Vegas and assume that nothing bad could possibly happen.

What a fucking idiot. Typical Raider.

Did you hear his alibi?

“I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and 3 guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened.”

No, but walking around with gold chains, flaunting your cash, and spraying $1,000 bottles of champagne on strangers sure as hell doesn't help.

and LMFAO @ J-6. Who the fuck is Brandon Mitchell? What a football n00b you are that you don't even know what your talking about. Some funny ass shit. Makes me Roll on the floor in laughter.

I'm sure repeating the exact same actions that ended in your teammate being shot dead a few years earlier is having a great time and exercising superb judgement.

Thanks for catching my hatchet job on Marshall's name.

The Church was a freaking zoo. I couldn't believe people would line up six deep for overpriced cocktails at that place. Thank God my time there was still when people carried cash instead of debit cards. I made friends with one of the weekday DJ's and used to get baked up in the choir loft on Salsa Night. Vinyl was much more sedate - I worked the same service bar in the back with the same girl on point the same two shifts every week and loved it.

Regarding Denver's bar scene, my favorite part about it was that the broke-ass no=tipping douchebag 30K millionaires were priced out of the places I worked for the most part. Wonder if that has changed - it's been 10-11 years.
