Bit of a dilemma. Opinions are welcome.

Should I buy this watch?

OR

Wait and spend double on this watch in a year?

I'm not a watch whore, but I think the funky looking square one is cool.

Or should I just buy a 46" Bravia?

Decisions, decisions.

I read the title and thought this thread was an advertisement for some sort of a new website idea.

Time is on my side, yes it is.

Seriously though the Ulysse Nardin looks quite generic (and if I'm seeing it right has a ruber wrist band). The square one is original and quite interesting but not really nice, so it'll probably get old very fast.

If you don't mind me asking how much are they?

$1500 and $2900 euro, respectively.

I did the math.

I don't know if I'll like carrying a briefcase on my wrist after the initial joy wears off:

I wear Timex. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

I still like the square one, but I've always liked interesting or "kooky" watches better than the boring ones.

:lol thanks!

In that price range there are many more models available so I'm guessing you really like those two. In that case you don't really need our advices.

Just a thought though. For 2900€ they could have come up with a better wrist band. Rubber tend to look cheap fast.

Personally I'm partial to the classics (Omega, Breitling, Tissot, even TAG Heuer) there's also a few others I like (Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer Monaco) but we're going into crazy money territory. I don't know if I'd ever be comfortable spending that much on a watch - but I do like them.

I don't like the funky one wrist band either. The watch itself is at least interesting looking.

I don't think I'd spend that much either. I'll save that for TVs and electronic shit I don't need, like a new Rotel AVR.

Both watches have multiple strap options and colors. And I'd probably buy another strap anyway.

I wouldn't know. Football is one of the few sports that I can't force myself to watch, even if it's the world cup final.

But judging by the size of San Marino, I guess it's difficult to even find enough people to form the team :).

Nice, but that watch can't touch this PP:

686 moving parts and it's reversible. Only four in existence. Small price of $1.5 million.

Nah, spending $6 million on a watch is crazy money.

Another PP as well. Only one of its kind.

I love watches. I lean more towards the second one because of my taste. However, the first one is unique. If it were me, I'd buy the first one. The second one is a style that you can get just about anywhere and any time.

Stainless steel 45 mm case, which makes every other watch I've owned seem tiny. They make 50, 53 and 55 mm watches as well. How you'd get your sleeve over any of those is beyond me.

The movement is an ETA 2824.

Love the left-handed crown.

You know what's funny? I know the Patek Philippe are incredible pieces of engineering and all that, but I never liked them :lol same goes for the Rolex watches.

Of course I wouldn't throw it back if I was given one... :lol :p:
