The 2007 Win Scores Draft Preview for a look at last year's crop:
http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2007-Win-Scores-Draft-Preview-2146/
What is a Win Score?:
Points + Rebounds + Steals + ˝Assists + ˝Blocked Shots – Field Goal Attempts – Turnovers - ˝Free Throw Attempts - ˝Personal Fouls
Adjusted for Strength Schedule and Pace Adjusted.
Looks like the picks had a fairly decent hit rate compared to other statistical methods, but the sampling is fairly small. I guess it would help if they went back and modeled older draft classes to give a larger sampling.
Highly Optimistic:
Michael Beasley
Kevin Love
Marreese Speights
Richard Hendrix
Joey Dorsey
Chris Lofton
Optimistic:
Chris Douglas-Roberts
Roy Hibbert
Mario Chalmers
Omer Asik
Jason Thompson
Pat Calathes
J.R. Giddens
George Hill
Aleks Maric
Pessimistic:
Jerryd Bayless
D.J. Augustin
Javale McGee
Robin Lopez
Kosta Koufos
DeAndre Jordan
Bill Walker
Sonny Weems
James Mays
Bryce Taylor
Highly Pessimistic:
OJ Mayo
Eric Gordon
Anthony Randolph
I had said before I'd like Giddens with the 45, but maybe a big like Joey Dorsey might be worth it, or many have said Hendrix would be a good pickup. It also looks like CDR or Chalmers might be well worth it at 26, but Walker looks like a risk more than just his injuries.
