Marc Gasol To Sign 3-Year Deal With Memphis
Jun 20, 2008 10:57 AM EST

Spanish website AS.com is reporting that Marc Gasol will sign a three-year contract with the Grizzlies.

Gasol went to high school in Memphis while his brother Pau was a member of the club.

Marc was included in the trade by the Lakers where Pau was acquired.

So when is he headed back to LA in exchange for DJ Mbenga and the next of kin in the Gasol family?

Seems like the only team having trouble with their farm talent is SA.

Probably because Splitter > Gasol.

Nah, that would make too much sense.

If the Spurs could offer a contract similar to what Memphis gave Gasol, Splitter would be over here. Gasol is an excellent player in his own right.

I think little brother will end up being the better player. Solid move by Memphis to sign him.

2 first rounders, Gasol who would be a first rounder in this years draft, and Crittenton who was a first rounder last year. Plus the Kwame expiring deal....

People may still hate that trade, and Memphis didn't get equal value in terms of getting players ... but they put themselves in position to vastly improve the franchise in a short amount of time if they draft well.

He should take Pao's number so the Memphis fan doesn't need to buy a new jersey
