I am pretty high right now and feel like asking a random question on food.

Anyway, what is the most money you have spent on a full course meal or entree at a restaruant? where was it at?

La Caille, SLC. Took my ex there for Valentines in 07. Two entrees and a bottle of wine- was about $175 bucks plus tip.

I never understand when people treat being high like it inebriating or something? I mean I guess if you don't do it that much it is, but when you stay high all day, every day, for years on end, you might as well be stone cold sober in terms of it's effect on mental and physical competency.

I'm sure I've dropped a couple hundred if I was on a date before. It all depends on the wine. That is where you get nailed. Unfortunately one of my buddies has a restaurant with a great wine list.

Ate at Nobu in NYC with my dad and 4 of his buddies and our bill was over $1400- though it was mostly expensive wine, there was a fish appetizer that was like $200 on there...my dad's bud is a big shot though so it was all on him

I've eaten at Morton's a couple times with my dad and our bill was over $200 for the two of us.

Alcohol makes the bill climb fucking fast especially when on dates. I used to take this one girl out to Sushi at least once a week. Our Sushi bill was at least 30 bucks each, then we would get 2 or 3 bottles of cold unfiltered sake. We would also get those little appetizer peas in a pod.

I've dropped more than $200 for dinner on a date before at Bohannon's and at a place in Austin called Zoot.

I also enjoyed a great dinner with about 10 family members at Picasso at the Bellagio a few years ago and the bill (which I didn't have to pay) ended up being somewhere around $2000.00.

But the biggest rip-off was here in SA at a French place named Bistro Vatel. I had Coq Au Vin, which was just the worst I'd ever had and the bill was $600 for 4. Never, ever go there.

It's such a crock of shit. When I was in Italy last summer, in a group of 8, we ate a four course meal on the beach and killed 14 bottles of wine. Tab came to $750 US. If we did that in the States, that would be the just the wine tab.

If it were great wine, you mean. There's plenty of good wine out there for relatively smaller amounts of money.

A vinters reserve of KJ is what? 50 bucks? And that's a pretty good wine right there IMO.

Edit: Although I did just check the OP and he said 14 bottles which doesn't really make my KJ argument look that great, but still, there's good wine out there in that price range.

well there was 5 of us. Actually I don't like fish all that much so I didn't eat it.

The story behind this was we went golfing that day and the person that lost had to buy dinner (excluding me because I make peanuts compared to them), well my dad's buddy Paul lost and he chose to eat there- so we went in there and he told the waiter that we didn't want menus and to just keep bringing out appetizers and drinks- well that gave them the go ahead to bring out the big expensive appetizers. It was funny becuase the waiters treated us like gold because they thought he was some famous bigshot or something- when he got the bill his eyes lit up and he laughed it off by saying 'I think $1400 would have gotten me a great golf lesson'

My boss passed out one time when the tab was on his room. He woke up to a $4000 bar tab. It was a hellava wild night. One girl a buddy picked up passed out in his room at the hotel. He and his roommate wrapped her up in a sheet and carried to the elevator, placed her in there (and tossed her clothes in) and hit the button for the lobby.

One friend was hitting on some girl that apparently had a husband or boyfriend there. He demanded to know who she had been dancing with while he wasn't around. When she pointed him out though the guy misunderstood who she was pointing to. My friend was standing next to this little ol' innocent-natured short guy with big jug-handle ears who got waylaid when he walked into the men's room. He never saw it coming.

I also have already tried the world's most expensive coffee in cotabato, philippines. It's the civet/alamid coffee, its around $120/kilo (around 2 pounds) locally and $900-$1000 if you're gonna buy it as imported stuff.

It by the way comes from the droppings of the alamid cat. So, it's basically a $1000 shit juice.

I have been to about every expensive restaurant in the L.A. area because when I lived there, we had to take a bunch of "Richer" clients out. It was pretty normal to have $1,000 dinner tabs for 4. But I'm not sure where was the most expensive. I do know that we were eating at The Palm when lobster was $30 a pound and people were ordering five pounders along with $12 Mai Tai's.

Ralph & Cacoo's in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Celebrated there after a buddy of my graduated. I had the seafood platter, stuffed high with fried shrimp and fish, with crawfish etoufee over rice, stuffed crabs, oysters, a cup of gumbo, sweet potato fries, and crawfish pistolettes. We also got some oysters on the half-shell. I like em chargrilled, so I got 6 that way.

I've paid around $120 per at Morton's.

At Commander's Palace and Emeril's, probably around $80-90 per.

At a place called Tony's in St. Louis it was close to $100 per also, but that place had the best freakin' service I've ever seen. At times they had 3-4 people attending a table of four. It was also the only place I've been to where they made me wear a house jacket.

While I have been on a lot of expensive business dinners, the most expensive was a french retaurant ( can't remember the name ) in New Orleans. The tab was approx. $200/person x 7 people = $1400. That was about 13-14 years ago.

With my husband, I would have to say about $100/person at Grey Moss Inn, Fleming's Steakhouse and Ruth Chris. We actually just went to Ruth Chris last week. We had a $100 gift card that we had been given for our anniversary about 9 months ago. The total bill was about $210.

Now I understand why you haven't been to P.F. Chang's. :p:

I love P.F.'s I've been there alot. But then I don't wear designer stuff, either.

dude all you need is fukn ramen noodles, with fried egg, spam, lettuce and ur fuckn set for lunch and dinner, only cost like under 3 dollars to make

That actually sounds good, without the spam. I'm going to have to try that out! Runny or hard yoke?

Damn dude, what the hell did you eat?

I had a 24 oz ribeye that was bigger than my face, a ceaser salad (with the dressing made tableside), seafood gumbo, and a side of fried sliced potatoes with truffle oil. My lady had a 3 lb lobster (she didn't finish it), house salad (dressing made tableside), french onion soup, and a twice backed potatoe. She had one drink (cosmo), and I had three Long Island Teas.

The bill came out to $150 and I gave, if I remember correctly, a $30 tip. The service was beyond excellent. We were treated like royalty.

I just have to know what you ordered.

Last time we were there it was the ahi tuna appetizer, bone in ribeye, split a caesar salad, country potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, cheesecake, and a couple of grey goose greyhounds.

Basically, we eat like crap for the rest of the trip and just go all out that last night :lol

I signed the tab for about 50 people at the original Macaroni's at Leon Springs back when Romano was still running it personally. As best as I remember it was a little over 3 grand after tip. That was some damned expensive Oso Buco I had that night.

Seriously, I've never gotten the fascination of spending that much money on food. Give me a Dooney or a Coach or some Franco Sarto shoes with my bowl of cereal and I'm perfectly content. :tu :lol

The idea is not to get you content.

I ate Peking Duck in Hong Kong for about $200 per person; of course everything is expensive there, but this place was really nice and they hand stretched your noodles at the tableside.

Is that anything like the "happy ending" of a massage?

Is there a Fogo de Chao in Austin?

I think I saw a billboard in Austin that said so.
fogo de chao is where i've spent the most money, but it was in LA

besides that i crushed a 24 oz ribeye in vegas a couple of years back, and it was north of 40 a la carte. that being said it was one of the best steaks i can remember having

I was a guest of Novartis at Papas steakhouse in Dallas. We had $1500 in Lobster appetizers alone.
We finished our meal off with $800/glass liquor. They dropped somewhere north of $10 grand on that dinner. There were 8 of us in all and we had just finished negotiating their contract with the VA.

I didn't pay any of it but every dinner I had during a week in Vegas this year with my family was well over $300... eventually I couldn't stand it and refused to contribute to the bill, and just got $8 fast food instead for the rest of the trip.

Bohananons, $2700 for 7 people, someone else was paying.

The company footed the bill at Mastro's with about 5 seafood towers that were custom made and at $250 a pop. I think, as the rumors existed, the mean was somewhere north of 12k. Not entirely sure as I left after the main course.
