what's new is that the NBA initially wanted up to one million dollars, now it's up to 1.4

I guess they wanna show that they are not afreaid of Donaghy and his possible stories. I still think the NBA is going completely the wrong way about this whole thing. Stern is too stubborn to see that the NBA's reputation has taken a huge hit and unless he actually opens up to the public, his hardball measures mean nothing.
