if Vecsey is reporting it then it's probably not true, but I guess wait and find out.

Peter is usually full of sh**

Even if it is true, I think he will be a Laker. That would be terrible, especially if he is willing to just take the MLE.

When is the opt out deadline? Is it June 30th?

if he's getting the MLE from the Lakers then they won't resign Vujacic.

They will resign Vujacic.

If Vecsey said it it can't be true.

The Spurs should make a run at him and I bet they will if this rumor is true.

Of course, there's no doubt they would make a run at him if it's true, but since it's likely not true, we can forget about it.

Artest said he wouldn't opt out to take an MLE deal, so if he thinks someone can offer hum a max deal, he's wrong, so the Spurs should take advantage IFFFFF it's true.

I read somewhere that just yesterday that Artest said something like not in 3 million years would he opt out and take less money to go to a contender.

Artest Won’t Take Paycut For Chance at NBA Title
When it comes to getting a shot at an NBA championship, Ron Artest is willing to wait if the money ain’t right.

“It looks like I’m gonna be a King next year. I haven’t seen anything change as of yet. Looks like I’m gonna be a Sacramento King. The Sacramento Kings are a good organization.”

“We’re not gonna opt out the contract right now, ’cause it just doesn’t make much sense. The whole market’s kind of messed up right now. You know, it’s not bad, the Kings still treat me good … i’m not gonna complain too much, things are going pretty good.”

Ireland: “Would you be willing to take less money to go to a contender?”

Artest: “Oh, never. Not in a million years. Actually, not in 10 million years.”

Ireland: “Really?”

Artest: “Make that more like 3 million years.”

This guy is such a flake, his story seems to change week-to-week, day-to-day. I don't kow if he'd be an asset or a liability here.

You may be right about him being a flake, but I have yet to read a quote from him saying that he is changing his mind - only a bunch of speculation from pundits. Vecsey appears to be talking out of his ass on this one.

Yeah cause hes such a stabilizing influence.

Well he and Kobe could bond immediately swapping stories about court appearances and constantly changing what you tell the media.

Ron Artest raises the anxiety level of every GM in the league. People are terrified at the idea of having to manage him on their team, but also equally terrified at the idea of the competition landing him & having to play against him. Cormac McCarthy should write a novel about this guy...

Him and Phil could swap "medicinal" suggestions as well.

Don't rule out the Pistons. They want changes and the brawl was a joke so that won't play into it. They would not have to trade anyone.

Seeing how he wants to get butt sexed by Kobe, if he does opt out, I think the Lakers are the best bet where he'll land.

1 the lakers r gonna prolly try and keep the same team they had this year, 2 artest stated he would not take an MLE and 3 the lakers cant afford him and SAC dont want odom. What, odom for artest? what a downgrade! Trading an underpaid, tough, versatile SF for a soft, crappy SF, only benefits the Lakers.
