The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed in principle to trade Yi Jianlian to the New Jersey Nets for Richard Jefferson, two league sources told SI.com.

The Bucks also are sending Bobby Simmons to the Nets. He has $20.5 million left on a contract that expires in the summer of 2010, when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh could become free agents.

Yi's camp was said to be ecstatic about going to the rebuilding Nets and playing in a major market, which was one of the original concerns when he was drafted by the Bucks last year. Yi threatened to not sign with Milwaukee in hopes of forcing a trade to another team.

The Bucks get out from under Simmons' contract while providing new coach Scott Skiles with a veteran player who can help him win now. The Bucks also retain their No. 8 pick in the draft to further revamp their team. The Nets hold the No. 10 pick in the draft.

For their sake I hope so. But I haven't seen his name in any trade discussions. They may want to rebuild around him...

I like how the Nets look. If they could move Vince go for it. This team has some good young pieces to build with.

They really don't have anyone left on that roster who can score for them besides Vince Carter. I know they acquired Bobby Simmons with that trade, but can he comeback from that injury?

Why did the Bucks trade Yi? Did he not work well in their system?

Devin Harris can score. Kristic when healthy can also score.

Shift all LeBron to Brooklyn Net's in 2010 stories into hyper drive.

Ironic, especially considering how high the Bucks were on Yi just last season when they drafted him admist much controversy. Now after a year, they are ready to trade him.

How old is Richard Jefferson, btw?

Think of all those shoe contracts for his new Nets teammates. Gonna be a big deal and all that extra revenue from bringing in new fans from China.

more like Chris Paul to Brooklyn in 2010 in hyper drive.

This sets up the Michael Redd for Wally, Varjeo and 19th pick

You don't like the Cavs chance of landing Chris?

It's going to be fun when Chris and LeBron are teammates in Brooklyn. :depressed

Jay-Z will be making songs about LeBron James being a Brooklyn Nets player once a month until the summer of 2010. It will be funny when the summer of 2010 comes and LeBron re-upps with the Cavs. The-the-the Rock will be crushed.

only real question is why the Sparks would be dumb enough to make that trade.

The Nets are now able to create two max slots for 2010 (for LeBron and either Wade or Stoudermire) if they don't pick up their option on Yi in 2010. Otherwise, they have a max for James and a second very large slot for another star. New Jersey really made out well on this deal; I'm shocked they got that much for RJ.

Someone on Cavs chat on the trade deadline kept saying Vince Carter will be coming to Cleveland. Maybe he was right.

I would bet Orlando before Cleveland for Vince Carter.

Turkoglu, Bogans, Cook, and either 2008 or 2009 first round pick.
