Whoa-- this is close to my current favs of Sochan at 9 and Jalen at 20, but with Jake LaRavia at 25 over Braun.

The Sochan/Brown situation shows just how tenuous player analysis in the NCAA can be. Early in the year, Brown had more popular chatter with better impact stats, but then by the end of the college season Sochan had passed him... What's the variance there--10 games, maybe 12? That's a pretty small...

To look on the bright side a bit, Dejounte finished 12th in the league in voting for defensive abilities. That's still an accomplishment in a league with 150 starters (30x5) and 30 6th men. From that pool of 180 or so players, being 12th is still pretty nice.

Getting LaVine now would be such a classic Portland move... they wasted basically a decade trying to win with a back court of 6'2" Lilliard and 6'3" McCollum, and then when McCollum went to New Orleans, the Pelicans immediately moved him to PG and paired him with defensive length in their back...

Partially true, but a deeper dive into Jalen's college record also shows a few things that Primo's one year at Alabama didn't, namely that he could be a first option offensively, that his assist-to-turnover ratio could improve, etc., and that's on a team with less talent than most where he's pretty...
