At the risk of going all Roger Ebert, I have to say all three were beyond unbelievable but Hank Kingsley is fantastic and probably my favorite. That type of Ed McMahon/Ryan Seacrest character that is only famous for mainly having a good speaking voice plus an ability to read lines and will pitch anything is so ripe for parody. I don't have to tell you obviously, but Tambor played Hank as one of the biggest idiots ever on television, while also conveying the poor sap’s greater qualities and extracting some heartfelt sympathy from the audience. He’s also extremely funny in a dead-pan type of way. Tbh since Shandling used his experiences guest hosting the Tonight show, and McMahon and Seacrest worked closely with people who had actual wit the Hank Kingsley character is probably more true to life than even fans realize. I'll bet there have been tons of times Seacrest/McMahon didn't get or weren't in on the joke that cracked up Carson and his producer, and Simon Cowell respectively.
tbh I'm still kind of depressed you were the only one to get the Larry Sanders reference. Totally forgotten/underrated/awesome as hell show.
