How good of a player do you predict he will be?
I think he will be Devin Harris good. These are only predictions so no one should get bent out of shape.

Smush Parker to the service desk please, Smush Parker.
Kidding. Just a role player from the bench.
George Hill shall exceed all expectations, for no man, woman, or child has seen greatness comparable to George Hill before.
Impossible to predict before at least summer league. This whole forum combined might have seen him play a combined five times. Might.
None of us know how good he will be this year. What I will say is that I will be disappointed if either Ian Mahimi or George Hill does not show major promise this year. If neither one of them shows major promise then I think it’s safe to say that Spurs management deserves a failing grade for their transactions over the last three years. What does major promise mean? Ian Mahimi must become part of the rotation at the very least. Anything less will be considered a disappointment in my book. George Hill needs to break the rotation and have some key moments before the end of the year. Anything less does not get beyond the fact that other players were selected after them that are successful.
The last two point guards the Spurs drafted in the first round and kept are still in the league.
I think Hill makes it three.
Much better than Chalmers.
slightly better than Beno. be realistic.
Assuming he comes out as good as we're believing, 7 & 3 at the max next season.
He is overrated.
I think he'll be in the rotation but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Veterans that come here (K. Thomas and Udoka) have a difficult time learning the system so it'll be 10x harder for a rookie who'll be depended upon to run the team for ~10 min per game. I think if he stays out of Pop's doghouse, he can consider it a good year.
good enough to have his agent call and have his house furnished at Ethan Allan this afternoon- my mother the paparazzi.
Where can I watch the Summer League? NBA TV?
He will be almost as good as Parker. In fact, we will trade Parker at the deadline for front line help to free up the starting position for Hill.
too hard to predict til we see him play for at least half a season...
if you are saying for his first season,.... then maybe for 10-15 minutes a game if he can just give us solid minutes and not end up in Pop's dog house and doesn't get into any trouble on or off the court, then that will be good enough for me for his first season...
I predict he will work hard and not spend all his time on MySpace.
More importantly, I think one thing is different this year - at the moment our bench is as weak as I can remember it. The veterans sucked last year and should guarantee to be worse this year as age pushes them further into decline. Not everyone specifically but as a group our old bench looks so bad I think young players will have a relatively easier time to crack the rotation than in years past.
Hill should be be able to get the nod over Vaughn by December. If he can't, then we're screwed to some degree.
Without ever seeing him play a game at IUPUI, I say he doesn't crack the rotation this year.
If the Spurs are lucky, he takes the full year to develop his PG skills and becomes a Jannero Pargo in year 2.

Your prediction for the first year is depressing but quite possible. The FO has set themself up a bit by selling Hill as their guy (even though it was probably Batum) and how he should be able to contribute immediately. At the least, I hope that means they give him some playing time. What he does is up to him. I just hope he gets the opportunity.
I am optimistically hoping he's somewhere between the second and third best point guard the Spurs have drafted since I've been a fan. That would make him somewhere between Beno Udrih and Chris Whitney.
I predict that Hill will get every opportunity to succeed (thus making the Spurs look good for picking him so early).
Every opportunity. :)
