But instead we fail to sign Maggette because we didn't have enough money, we were unable to sign Pargo because he went to Europe, we were unable to sign JR Smith becuase of money and the fact he makes bad decisions, we drafted boring old Hill instead of young versions of Josh Howard, and we let Manu Ginobili represent his team in the Olympics. What a shitty, shitty front office.
Can you imagine how good our team would be if ST members were the FO? Pop wouldn't be the coach, we'd have Nocioni, JR Smith, Maggette, Pargo, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Ginobili would have been traded since he is old and broken, Brent Barry would have resigned, not to mention our veteran Allen Houston backing up TP, and we couldve signed Chalmers as a weed buddy for JR smith too.
We'd be so good.
Tony Parker/Allen Houston/Pargo
Ginobili/JR Smith/Barry?
Maggette/Nocioni/Bowen
Duncan/Bonner
Oberto/Thomas
Seriously, how baller of a lineup would that be. Best of all worlds. We add Allen Houston so we still have a really old Finley-esqe player, JR Smith has Chalmers in the same way that Oberto has Ginobili so they don't get lonely, we have Maggette, Nocioni, and Bowen so we can switch between all offense, some offense some defense, all defense. They all compliment each other so well too! Duncan and Oberto are unselfish so there should still be enough shots to go around. We won't have Popovich so JR Smith can still shoot halfcourt 3's and Maggette can dominate the ball as much he wants. Nocioni can hangout with Ginobili and Oberto on the bench. Barry will probably get injured and miss most of the season but whenever we play the Lakers he'll put up 20+ points so will still be worth it.
Sometimes I get sad knowing it will never happen.
I like this guy. Last time I got high and played NBA Live I made a player named after myself and was on that team, too!
Re: We need NOCIONI Now !!!!
People overrates Nocioni trade value by a huge margin.
Nocioni a quite big contract and hasn't played well for nearly two years. I highly doubt teams are offering tons of things to Bulls to get him. I'm not even sure Spurs are interested in getting him.
Bulls have offered Nocioni+Simmons+first round pick for Brad Miller and Kings have turned that down. It gives you and idea on how low Nocioni trade value is.
Re: We need NOCIONI Now !!!!
this rejected offer didn't have much to do with the real trade value of Nocioni.
Kings are like many teams getting into position for 2010 when the contracts of Miller, SAR and Thomas expire. they are in position to become a major player in the free agency. Nocioni's contract goes till 2012 and would have cost them significant cap space.
the other point was the pick. (like the whole trade rumor) it has never been confirmed that the Bulls were willing to trow in a 1st rounder. another rumor said that the Bulls did NOT want to add a 1st rounder and just offered a 2nd rounder.
it also not exactly accurate that he didn't play well for two years.
in fact he played a very good season 2006-07 till this plantar fasciitis thing happend and he missed 30 games. he came back for the 07 PO far from healthy and played poor in this POs.
(PF problems: see Duncan, Tim. poor POs bc not healthy: see Ginobili, Manu)
last season he was a bit of a victim of the desater coaching by Scott Skiles, who started to panic after a few weeks and changed his rotations from games to game. Skiles just didn't have any idea how to use Deng, Nocioni, Thomas and Smith at the forward rotation.
the first 2 months under Boylan Nocioni played pretty well and effective again, before the whole Bulls team totally fell apart and turned into one of the leagues worst teams in March. not a single Bulls player played up to his potential in this weeks.
IMO Nocioni is quite worth the money he gets. it's not a bargain contract, but it's far from an albatross. and I also think that he would fit great with the Spurs system. not because of all the Argentinian relations (that's a plus of course), especially he should fit great in a small ball line up alongside Tim.
I would give the Bulls EVERYTHING outside the big 3 if it brings in Nocioni. he isn't overrated, in fact he currently might be a bit underrated and this could be the best chance to somehow get him.
Re: We need NOCIONI Now !!!!
Nocioni, Larry Hughes, and Drew Gooden for Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili might work.

The fact that Bulls made an offer for Nocioni has a lot to do with his "real trade value".
What is important is how Bulls value Nocioni. They obviously don't put a lot of value in him and were ready to trade him with a first round pick in an almost salary dump trade (Miller is old, not that good and Bulls are in rebuilding mode).

Thanks for explaining why Nocioni trade value is quite low. The 2010 free agent class is great and a lot of teams want to have cap space that summer. It makes the market for Nocioni smaller if I've well understood capitalism, it lowers his value.
Chicago is also among these teams that want cap space in 2010 and that's a reason why they are trying to trade Nocioni for player(s) with short term contract(s).

I trust the source saying that a first round pick was offered and even with only a second round pick, Nocioni has still a low trade value.

I've said nearly two years. Nocioni hasn't played well since January 2007.

Agree, Nocioni will be at his best as small ball PF.

I wouldn't trade Bowen for Nocioni.

That's like saying that you prefer dogshit over catshit, cowshit and horseshit. Shit is shit. And he wouldn't take the Spurs where they need to go. Someone with much more substance is required to boost the wilting Spurs.
Re: We need NOCIONI Now !!!!
Bruno, you would love Nocioni if he were a Spur, face it. Guy is a stud.

I "love" Nocioni and I would like to see him with a Spurs jersey.
