I know he's been out of the league for a few seasons, but there have been reports that he wants to return for the 2008-2009 season. Despite the fact that the Knicks gave him an inflated contract years ago, the guy can play. Thoughts?

wow....just wow.
I have just sifted through thread after thread of "hey why don't we sign this guy," and 9 times out of 10 he sucks. At least Allan Houston has proven himself. I'm assuming we could get him for the bare minimum. Not a bad guy to bring off the bench if you ask me.
thanks for the laugh.
this guy can't make the knicks, the knicks!
Wouldn't mind giving Houston a training camp invite. His knees are probably still shot but who knows. Plus it'd be nice to make Finley work for a roster spot . . .
El mo.
Thank you. I'm not suggesting that we give him a huge contract and anoint him as our new franchise player. I just think that he could possibly fit the bill as a nice role player off the bench. And if not, we haven't lost anything by inviting him to training camp have we?
for the lle spurs could do worse
however signing him could hurt by not develpoing the younger players
:vomit:
I hated his game when he was healthy.
what is this? the punked show? Anyone who thinks houston can still play in this league, on our roster, just got punked. imo wasting time with mighty mouse cost us HCA as well as contributing a wasted spot on our roster during the PO's. With that being said id rather have mighty mouse back for another episode of the (FO just punked their spurs fans), then even thinking about signing houston.
If you were going to bring in an ex-Knick, I'd prefer Sprewell.
Those of you that know me well enough to know what I think of Sprewell understand the point of the above sentence.
No.
I guess I would agree with timvp about the training camp invute, maybe it would give him a chance to show other teams he can still do it, but I wouldn't want him on this team.
Sure....why not??? Wheel his old ass out there.
Kemp just signed overseas today.
another sign that this offseason is long and boring......
Wow...if you were gonna start one of these threads you couldve at least titled it "What about Penny Hardaway?" instead.
GOSH. There's nothing wrong with Houston, but he's got FUCKING ZERO CHANCE TO SURVIVE in Western Conference. Last time he's hanging out with Knicks. He sucked from bench,if ever. We actually talkiing about Knicks.....how suck is that
let's also get vin baker and stacey augmon.
an invite for what? why on earth would anyone in the nba want to invite houston to training camp unless it was for a speech :lmao i honestly dont think the spurs are in that much trouble, where they have to call and say...........houston we have a problem. i completely disagree with timvp on this one and anyone who even thinks about an invite to training camp :nope
I doubt Houston, given his knees, age and inactivity, would get past a priavate work out with Coach Bud or Pop. But if he did, there is no harm in inviting him to training camp. Barring some sort of trade or a BAE pick up, the Spurs are done this off season.
He will not come here... He's playing ball against kids now.

Sup, brother Admiral?
I'd definitely give A.H. a look in training camp. There aren't many folks out there that were better shooting the rock.
I don't see the point to sign Houston. At best, he can bring some shooting and vet leadership and Spurs have still both.
training camp invite wouldn't hurt at all.
One of the best shooters I had ever seen.
