Do you tip the Pizza delivery guy?

absolutely.

I have been there, and that was at a time when gas was just a dollar.

If its bad weather I tip more because my lazy ass didn't want to fight it but some poor kid is.

from when I used to work there.. they paid delivery people 1 dollar for each delivery... plus tips.... but I think it's different now, they probably give them the 2.50 plus tips..

and well they do get paid more than everyone else there...

I used to be one too and the answer is of course you tip the pizza guy. This is like asking, "Should I tip my waiter?" It's not like it's an open debate; there is a clear societal contract that pizza guys get tipped. You just do it, hot/cold, long wait/short wait, good pizza/bad pizza; that motherfucker needs to be tipped and if you don't do it, you're a big time asshole who's not just spitting in the face of that particular pizza guy, but rather the face of the entire service industry and the faces of tipping customers everywhere.

So if my pizza arrives cold with bites taken out of it and wrong toppings I should still tip? Fuck that

Tipping the pizza guy is automatic; he provides a valuable service. I will bump my tips up a bit after hearing the restaurants don't cover gas though; that really sucks for the deliveryman.

lol, this thread reminds me of the day our house got raided and my cousin went to jail. my dad was so happy, he took us to johnny rockets, and tipped them 10 bucks:lol

If anyone reading this post doesn't tip, you are a complete and utterly stupid asshole.

These guys use their own cars, pay for their own gas, and deal with assholes not tipping all the time. It was my first job when I was 16. And the rich fucks that didn't tip got paintball all over their house and cars.

You got to understand if the pizza tastes bad or is cold it's not his fault. He just delivers the shit. That's it. Blame the people at the pizza place for it not him.

I don't understand this attitude at restaurants either. Tips should always be independent of the quality of the food. You're not tipping the chef.

Barring any catastrophic delivery fuck ups I'll tip a flat $3. And I do mean catastrophic. The only time I ever stiffed a delivery guy was when they took an hour and a half to get there and parked halfway on the front lawn.

I thought that in most restaurant the waiters shared their tips with the cook(s)? If that's true then you are in fact also tipping the chef.

I've never heard of the cook getting any of the tip. All my friends who are waiters tell me they split the tips amongst themselves and the busboys.

But you are. Did you know at Pizza Hut and major pizza places they have to document their tips and a certain percentage is taken out to share amongst the employee's?

99% of them just don't even report their tips. I didn't and they knew I was lying about it. But it's my fucking car, my gas and I didn't give a shit.

Also at restaurants they do the same thing with waiters. It's just about reporting what tips you got or keeping it to yourself.
