Um, no. The V6 weighs 3819#. The V8 is about 4100. Those numbers are from the website. A supercharger adds some extra weight, more if it's got an intercooler. Adding carbon fiber parts and removing extra stuff might keep it around 4000#, but that's it. You might get it below 3500 if you removed the engine, but that really screws with your timeslips.

It's funny: Edmunds ran a test of the Challenger vs. a Mustang Bullitt and the Dodge ran a 13.2 at 107.5. Then they later tested a 2009 Challenger in the same trim and it ran a 13.8 at 103. The weight didn't change between the two cars, and the difference in trap speed is significant, and is an indication of horsepower, not driver skill. My guess is that Dodge sent a ringer for the shootout. Hopefully they'll all be that quick, but I bet they won't.

Yeah, he could have a custom trailer built to tow him behind it, since there's no fucking way a 6'11" guy is going to be able to actually fit into the car. And forget about increasing legroom; immediately behind the seat is the firewall and the engine.

My interest in this is was obviously because it's Duncan's car. My knowledge of him exceeds my car knowledge by leaps and bounds. I appreciate the help.

LOVE the 'vette. Saw a black one just like it up here yesterday. Very cool. If I didn't need four seats for the kids I'd have considered one of those instead of the 5.0.

Its a pig thats for sure. I like that its a shortbed. I'm going to gut the interior and put new up to date gauges and paint it light silver. I'll probably go with leather seats out of a run of the mill sedan and pad the doors. I'll have to relocate the gas tank to the bed because right now its behind the bench and I'd like to put in a tool box and some speakers.

You need to get some pics up of the 5.0

It's ugly, it's slow, but it's mine, and it's paid for. It's the first car I've ever owned outright. I got 27 mpg on my last trip out of town running AC the whole way. Notice the Adobe tint job; it has actual tint on it now. :lol

With the right heads (I forget the brand name) and quality port job you could push it into the low 11's.

There are a lot of good combinations of heads and intakes. It's an auto, and I want to keep it that way, so I have some time while I get a beefier one built up. I'm also going to do the engine last, so that the car has a solid frame, antilock four wheel disc brakes and a world class suspension before I throw more power at it. It's only got 100k miles on it so I should be able to get at least another hundred out of it. That buys me some time.
