What would you do if we didn't live in a society with taxation?
What if we lived in a trade and barter society...
How then would you realize your right to free healthcare?
How did they do it then?
Did they force it?
There is nothing spiritual about socialized medicine...what would be spiritual is for the medical practitioners, the pharmacists, the chemists, to give up material gain and offer their talents for free, and pass on their knowledge, willingly, and for the people to support them in that endeavor.
You see that's what people did when they had no concept of science and all they had was spirituality.
A government forcing it, either by taxation or any other means, is not spiritual...it is oppression, it is control. There is nothing enlightened about it. And there's certainly not going to be anything humane about it if a government is in charge of it.
Enlightenment, altruism, unselfishness...these things can't be imposed on people, they have to be sought, they have to be desired by the seeker, by it's society. They cease to be positive attributes when people or governments attempt to impose them on others, they instead become tools for manipulation and control.

A trade and barter society?? Are you serious?? Now you're just being unrealistic and downright naive. Pretty ridiculous to think that we will ever go back to a trade and barter society. And taxation is oppression and control? GTF outta here :lol :lol

I can't take you seriously when you think we could go back to a trade and barter society. It's ridiculous to even think it's plausible. I know you thought of it as your utopian society while drinking some jimson tea, but it's unrealistic and will never happen. And you want people to trade and barter for their healthcare? If anybody is too sick to work how do they repay with whatever skills they have to trade? Are they not going to get care because they are to sick to frame your house or lay your tile? Would a Dr. even care for somebody if they think they won't get healthy to repay them? Do you have to pay upfront? It's not plausible whottt.

How is taxing somebody that lives under the services and protection that a government provides considered oppression and control? If you want no taxes go to a place where there is no government or somewhere deep in the forest where they will never find you and you won't use any of the governments services including police/firefighters/etc.. So like I was saying...rigid, and inflexible. I could elaborate at length on just how wrong you are about the likelyhood of trade and barter ever returning in a major way(all it takes is a food shortage)...but since:
A. It wasn't the point I was trying to make in asking you that question.
B. It's still around in many forms and widely used in informal trade.
B. Still a dominant form of international trade that is actually gaining in popularity in recent times, and is in fact used by just about every nation in the world, and you think it's something that's obsolete...
I don't even see the point of attempting it.
And since you never bothered to answer my question and instead tried to spin my statement into saying we should return to that form of exchange...multiple times, I'll just chalk it up to you not knowing that answer.
Ditto the second part of our recent discussion where I made clear what I was referring to and you still ignored it in your reply. Not that I'd be wrong in claiming the same is true of taxation anyway.
