I'm gonna wait for 'Failin Pallin'...
That third video is not a trailer.
I'll download it someday to watch the actors' performances, but Stone's history lessons should be taken with more than a grain of salt.
a remake of "Ernest Goes to the White House"?
I'll wait for the DVD and buy it, watch it, and keep it in my massive video collection. The theater? No. I don't go there much.
Nixon was a lot better -- only the Larry Hagman character smacked of the JFK wackiness.
Like I said before. That actor playing Karl Rove is gonna kick ass ppl are gonna b talkin about his performance.
He already did a better job than that Seymore Hoffman guy at playing Capote
I'll wait till it comes to RedBox.
I think it will be funny and that talking heads song fits his ass perfectly.
Well I for one am going to go check it out. The music seems awesome. Too bad that third clip isn't actually from the movie...because that is arguably the best one. I think the last movie I liked by Stone was JFK so I'm not expecting too much.
BTW, did I ever mention that I actually like Bush more when he's filtered through the lens of Liberal demonization and hate?
You guys make him so much more than he actually is when you do that...if only because of the way he pisses you guys off.
I look at the dude and see a complete obstinate dipshit, albeit a Pro-American, one.
The I look at the reaction he is able to get from you guys and how little it bothers him, and how ya'll view him, how easily he makes ya'll bounce off the walls...and he actually becomes somewhat of a badass that has taken evertyhing you guys have thrown at him and still drives ya'll batshit crazy with seemingly little or no effort. You guys have a way of making him seem like this omnipotent malevolent force that can't be controlled or stopped. When it's really just that ya'll lost control and became more primitive than he was. But not only does he seem like more of a badass when ya'll do that...he actually becomes a sympathetic figure.
It's pretty amazing...it's also why he was re-elected. Just imagine...his obstinance, which 99% of the time is a negative attribute, was actually a positive attribute when compared to what Kerry and the Dems had to offer.
I just want to see if Stone has the balls to show what W really thinks of Saudi Arabia(he hates their fucking guts), as opposed to his Dad(who doesn't). No matter what else Stone does in this film, if his take on that is honest I'll regain some respect for Stone as a filmmaker.
I beg to differ, I never saw Bush Sr. necking with a Saudi king :lmao :lmao

get real dude. there is nothing Bush loves more than money + power. And the Saudi kings are masters on both. I would not be surprised if he lost his virginity to a Saudi prince
Yeah I know...everytime I say this someone posts a picture of Bush with the Saudis...and I'll just say that have like a Trillion dollars invested in our economy and have it by the balls. He doesn't like them at all, and this was leaked out right after we went into Iraq. This leak getting out was the reason Bush replaced a bunch of his staffers for leaking Admin info, and the evidence of it happening was erased pretty quickly.
He doesn't like them, and he and his Dad had a huge falling out about them around 2001 or 2 or so.
I don't know why Whottt thinks his record setting disapproval ratings don't bother him. I'm fairly certain they bother him a great deal.
Went and saw it...
This movie fucking sucks. It is without a doubt Oliver Stone's worst movie. It is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
If you've seen the previews, you've seen the best parts of the movie. In fact it's weird because it felt like I had already seen every scene of this movie in the previews.
And judging by the number of people in the theater when I saw it...it's going to be a massive flop.
That guy that plays Karl Rove doesn't do shit....
The only guys that do a good job in this movie are Brolin and Cromwell...Dreyfuss looks like Cheney but if he was trying to portray him as evil he failed.
It's kind of boring. The movie presents his Presidency as the result of his conflict with his father. It's not a sympathetic portrayal either, Brolin's Bush is a buffoon with daddy issues severely lacking in self-awareness. Most of the stuff presented in the movie I already knew about. The only thing that surprised me was the contention that Bush and his cabinet pray after every meeting.
Is that true?
I'll only watch this movie when its on HBO and I am channel flipping.
Even then, Im not entirely sure it will hold my attention. JFK was entertaining, never seen Nixon and this movie just smacks of self-idealized portrayal.
Bush needs no help in setting the bar very, very low. Intelligent or not, he has convinced no one of his prowess, domestic or foreign.
It's nowhere near as good as JFK.
Don't listen to Findog either...this movie isn't a very negative portrayal of the Bush Admin. I was expecting that...hell I was actually looking forward to it.
It's much less negative on Bush than the existing perception that the crowd it is intended for have of him.
About the only person that really gets torched in this movie beyond what the media and Democrats have already done to those in the Bush Admin...is Condoleeza Rice...
They really make her seem fucking weird in this move.
Basically it's like this...
I like Brolin's Bush better than I like the real W.
I like Cromwell's Bush 1 better than I like the real Bush 1.
I like Dreyfuss' Cheney better than the real Cheney.
Etc...
I mean they are genuinely more likeable...more humanized.
Libs will be more disappointed in this than Conservatives will...
Thandie Newton's delivery and facial expressions were just bizarre. Looked like something out of an SNL sketch than a serious movie.
:lmao What fucking movie did you watch? It wasn't a hatchet job designed to serve up red meat to Bush haters, but he and his Presidency still come off badly. Stone does not have an objective POV, but he tries to be balanced, and Bush and his Administration still don't fare well.Quote:
Don't listen to Findog either...this movie isn't a very negative portrayal of the Bush Admin.
He fails because his Bush Cabinet is more likeable, more competent and more human than the actual real Bush Cabinent is....
Bush in particular does not come off poorly in this movie....if that was it's intent it fails.
Brolin's Bush is much cooler than the real Bush is IMO.
Well I think the scenes are mostly when Bush is with his peeps. I am sure like most peopel good or bad, Bush is pretty nice guy when he's with his people. Even Saddam Hussein would seem likeable if most scenes are when he's socializing with his peeps.
I think Stone pretty much knows history will tell about the real Bush. But I still don't understand why he would make this movie. It's pointless to me. It does not take a genius and 2 hours of film to understand simpleton Bush
Were the daughters in it?
