I blame SA's conservatism for the Spurs' roster
Although I've never lived there and have only set foot in the city a handful of times, I'm aware San Antone is the most politically conservative of the big Texas cities.
I feel the mood has prevented the Spurs from going after solid players due to them not measuring up to the "values" the organization trumpets. Going back to the late 90's, there was Sprewell, and then not going after Artest, and letting SJax take off, not looking at Vince Carter, and probably now bypassing Marbury. Not to mention the drafts consisting of projects and longshot oversea players.
Point is that it's all catching up and hell yes we've got 15 solid citizens on the roster, a great bunch of guys to be sure - only collectively they're subpar to be kind. There's no reason even without Ginobili and Parker, should this team be struggling to win 2 games with a still elite Duncan anchoring the middle.
Its unique to San Antone is comparison to all other franchises, and the character over contribution mantra needs to be revisited if the Spurs wish to remain in the top tier of the league going forward.
Will Holt, Buford, and Pop concede the point?

Re: I blame SA's conservatism for the Spurs' roster
No, they won't.
It's not a real issue.

How is drafting a French rapper, an Argentine who lit up the Italian League, and a black guy from the Virgin Islands who's married to a white woman conservative?

Re: I blame SA's conservatism for the Spurs' roster
San Antonio is not the most conservative large city in Texas. That prize would go to Houston-home of the neo-con movement.
In small cities-just a little north of SA is New Braunfels in Comal county; 93% of the registered voters are Republican. They have never acknowledged that they owe the existence of their precious springs to a bunch of Democrats in the Sierra Club. The election has stunned the shit out of them.
All that aside everyone, liberal or conservative, in SA and the surrounding areas loves the Spurs.
It seems like a lot of the franchises in the NBA are trying to emulate the Spurs. Holt & Co. have a winning formula.

If only SA shared the progressive values of Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, or Orlando, the Spurs would have won seven championships.

Last I checked, SA is full of those one things from south of the border........you know, Mexicans. And if I know anything it's that Mexicans love there fruit cups sold on corners, their bars put on windows, their candy to be all fucked up and weird looking, their tripe to be served in a fucked up salty soup, their women to be enormous, their buffets to be plentiful, their downtown to be good and dirty, and their politicians to be liberal.

Why do I get the sneaky suspection that you'd not even mutter these words to an actual Mexican person in real life, face to face.

lol. "An actual Mexican" as if they are all menacing figures who would not stand for it :rollin
A lot of Mexicans are actually pretty conservative and would benefit from such policies. If it weren't for the stereotype the libtards have brainwashed people into thinking all are racists.
Racists because they won't give them handouts in return for votes.

Fort Worth. That makes me sad that my hometown didn't come through.

They're all pussycats and many, many, many of them are my very good friends who yes, I indeed do say the same thing to them in person. I am why you are dying for a change? Fuck, I didn't think making correct generalizations about the hispanic population in SA would make you "dying for change". I guess I'm more important then I previously thought.
By the way, how exactly is summing up a group of people's general tendancies "small minded"?

This is an objective generalization in your view? There are no negative insinuations hiding in there?

So I suppose if you read a French person's post summing up Americans as obese, television-watching, Nascar fanatics who are annoyed by people who are multi-lingual, that you would calmly declare that he is simply "summing up a group's general tendencies," and that there was no insult intended?

Touche.
However, when speaking in public, there is no evidence if an apostrophe is used correctly or not. Which is unlike saying out loud, "I could care less". Then everyone knows you are an idiot.

The fact that you, johnsmith, can't see past your "I'm too cool for my own good because I'm cynical and non-pc" exterior that what you said was offensive is why people hate you. It's the embodiment of your entire work here at spurstalk.
Your point was that Hispanics (though your chose to just limit that to just Mexicans) tend to not be conservative but instead of just saying that, you went the extra mile of tacking on a bunch of generalized bullshit to keep up with your own status quo.
The dipshit that doesn't care that he's a dipshit. Good for you, I bet it gets you laid a lot on Second Life or where ever you tend to spend your time on the computer making yourself feel better about the depressing life you lead.

The simple fact that you have no qualms or reservations about the shit you post here is the reason no one likes you. I know, I know, you don't care if anyone like johnsmith, we know. It's like you hae no filter between your brain and your finger tips.
The simple fact is, don't act like a total asshole and then get butt hurt when people go after you for being a total and complete asshole.
:lol You just don't get it do you. I basically do the same shit on here as mouse, the only difference is that I get people like you to argue with me by using my same screen name. The thing you are not understanding is that I get on this site and may or may not be serious about what I post, but the ultimate goal is to get douchebags like yourself all riled up and ready to argue (and it generally works with you).
It gives me some entertainment while at work and a break from the general business day. Why am I telling you this now and not while I'm at work, because I'm logging off after this post and I don't give a fuck anymore.
Take a lesson from Manny, he learned long ago not to let me bother him and he takes pot shots from random times and blows off my replies, there is nothing I can do to bother him. You on the other hand reply in length and detail to everyone of my posts and I return the favor because it's fucking hilarious in my opinion. Unfortunately for you, you take all this shit personally, which cracks me up.
Anyway, good day to you, enjoy your "Mexican Mafia" and shit.:lmao

You and Mouse both live some tremendously exciting lives.
If you're too dim to get it, that was sarcasm. No need for you to respond with something that requires me to inform you it was sarcasm.
By the way, being a dick whether being serious or not doesn't take away from the fact that you're a dick.

Doing house chores isn't considered "work."

You don't bother me, how often do I even pay attention to you? Once a month? Obviously, anyone that calls you out on your bullshit does bother you.

LOL you blaming me for your replying in length and detail. You were doing that with other posters long before I even bothered to respond to you in page two.
