Black people in America is a mixed bunch for people of color, not just African Americans that gets thrown into that category so Barack Obama inlcuding myself are black folks.
Also if you wanna get legal about it, you determine your ethnicity by who your father is anyway.
Reality with knowledge? Or do you mean to replace what supposedly is with what should be? Even the Spanish do a better job with racial identification, so it's not like the world doesn't see this, and even if it didn't it still wouldn't be right.
Are you in agreement with this form of identification? DO you think it's just to be thrown into a mass category, while others have their specifications? There is no fairness there.
I don't care what the common Joe has to say about this, because the common Joe isn't mixed. The common Joe most often could care less. This isn't an issue that is going to just go away either, the population of mixed people is only going to increase.
So, the law is right no matter what? Even if what you say is law, doesn't mean it is correct. If the law says you should be a slave, would you agree with this law? If the law impedes in anyway upon your freedoms would you still agree with it?
It sounds like you are going along to get along.

We can say what it is supposed to be all day but will that change reality at the moment? Like for example we can say players of a certian basketball team have great stats and pull in great numbers. With stats like that, they should win the next freakin championship. But is that championship really a reality? Not really because there are many other factors that could hinder a championship run.
And we sure do got a lot of factors here in America.

Honestly, Im ok with the identification because I've been treated as a person that is in the mass category. Its been ingrained into me since childhood. Thats basic human survival instinct too. You stick with your group.
Even if bi-racial people did have their own specifications, they still will be thrown into the mass category and possibly treated as such. Some people think Barbosa from the Suns is black but hes not! He's freakin Brazilian.

Yeah no doubt it will increase. I agree with you there. Until then maybe thats when things will change.

Your comparison is kind of extreme because I won't go to jail for putting down different ethniticies on applications. I do that all the time. It's not really impeding on my freedoms.
I understand what you are saying though but this whole race thing is more of a social thing than a law thing. I mean shit, back in those slave days Im sure white people thought owning a slave was not entirely a good thing but society at the time deemed it acceptable.

Yup, and so is everybody else.
Re: Obama has received more threats than any other president-elect, authorities say.
But, Creepn, it seems to me that you believe that identifying reality is the same thing as justification. Giving into the system as it stands is what SLOWS the positive progress of history. If no one is willing to buck "reality" and attempt a stand based on ideology/knowledge/philosophy, then all the idealists will simply become realists (and in many cases, cynics) and be in perfect place to quash all the future generations of idealists into becoming like themselves, etc....
Going along to get along is saying, "I'm not sure the world will ever get better, so why even try". A self-fulfilling prophecy.

That's pretty inspiring but I wouldnt even know where to start. What would be the official name for bi-racial people? Certianly not mutt or half-breed or half-afros as another certian poster put it.
"Bi-Racial"? No. Thats like saying "My name is Name.".
Re: Obama has received more threats than any other president-elect, authorities say.
My point is that there shouldn't be an official OR un-official name. The idea is to progress towards a society free of labels and necessary allegiance to cliques and such. At least, that is my idea.

See, you already completely missed the gist of my earlier comment. You've given in. I guess it is easier to give in than go against the current, but not more admirable.

Well, whats stopping you?

I had almost forgotten the assassination threats on Obama when he took office.

The problem is those were just from right wing nuts. Trumps got to worry about the New World Order Globalist Illuminati going after him.
