Dunno.
Another question is, could he get suspended for connecting with the elbow?
He threw the ball over his head towards the Nets bench
he will probibly get fined, but not suspended.
Technically (pun intended), you don't have to get two T's to get tossed. On the second 'T', ejection is automatic, but they don't have to wait that long.
He did get a second T because there was two foul shots afterwards.
OK, I kinda lost interest in the last few minutes of the game. Wasn't sure if there were two 'Ts' or not, just explaining to maxpower that there don't have to be.
he got a second T cause he threw the ball at the ref like an ahole.
Massenburg should be cut from the team for that Bush league play he pulled tonight.
Absolute total cheap bushleague bullshit.
Wow, TPark.
Did you want Kevin Willis cut from the team after he intentionally elbowed scott williams in the throat in the '03 playoffs?Quote:

Well, that was Klutzenburg's best effort. Totally stupid play, nobody was "enforced" or intimidated. An complete embarrassement.
10 minutes, 5 PFs. Good ol' spastic Klutz, ticking along at 24 PFs per 48 minutes. The guy is an emotional dwarf.
I found the whole thing pretty damn comical personally. I have no problem with a little chippiness here and there. I laughed my ass off while in the middle of a shift at work when I saw this. I also laughed my ass off for about the next 2 minutes because of how uber tight the refs got for a short span. Noone could so much as breath on another player. It was great entertainment as I came the the realization we were about to drudge the New Jersey Jason Kidds!

God knows they would give you plenty of opportunity to nit pick.
I thought it was a tough play by Massenburg. You need a little of that to put the fear of God in the other teams. It wasn't the cleanest of plays, but basketball is a rough sport.
Mass shouldn't have thrown the elbow but it looked to me like a total act of frustration from his night of unearned fouls.

The elbow was because he was trying to clear some space. Collins was all over him all night long and he was tired of it. Mass is not known as a cheap shot player by any means...just ask around the league. He almost never ever gets flagrant fouls...look it up.
He tossed the ball, bid F'ing deal...Barkley used to do that all the time, and it is just heat of the moment ...nothing else...he did not curse the ref or charge the fans or players...it ws tame.
BTW, screw you TPark.
By that point, I think he wanted to be tossed...he never looked back when he tossed the ball, never paused, just kept walking to the locker room. He's had enough.
In the replay, you could even see Salvatore about to give him the second T, but when he saw him already walking away, you could see him say "OK, go..."
Salvatore has shown over and over that he has had it in for the Spurs....Mass had had enough of the non calls and he was ready to call it a night.
I know...I cringed when I saw he was on the floor...
Yes I did.Quote:

Look up the forum archive after that game.
I was on the floor literally at the time that that thing happened, and I was sickened.
Anyone that wants to justify Massenburg's BS play last night is a bozo.
This is basketball, not hockey, not football.
Christ people.
It was so minor it is ridiculous. He barely touched Collins. Collins was all over him and he put his elbows and ball in his face to make some room, a la Malone. You are totally overreacting(like always). Not one scribe even mentioned this by Mass...not even the opposing coach who was crying and whining to all who wouldf listen about Bowen the last game.Quote:

Here is a quote from The Newark Star Ledger:
Yeah, this is just like Hockey. :rolleyesQuote:
The only drama after that was a elbow from Tony Massenburg, which nailed Collins in the jaw with 5:02 left and was quickly shown the door by Bennett Salvatore.
"It grazed me," Collins said. "He was mad, he really wasn't doing anything out there. I just took a charge on him the play before, and he was probably upset about that."
But the Nets were tagged much harder in the standings: They sank deeper in the Atlantic, a half-game behind the Knicks, and settling into a last-place tie with Toronto.
So its ok to throw intentional elbows and play dirty???
Fuck off.
He did not throw the elbow, he had the ball in both hands and he pushed his elbows towards Collins to make some room because Collins was fouling him and was all over his back, like all game long. He got pissed about it and got a little over physical....so what???Quote:

You said he should be thrown off the team like some stupid idiot, and that is total bullshit.
we need players on the Spurs to elbow the other team
We need Massenburng to elbow Nash or Allen in the playoffs

kiss my ass.
Collins wasn't even close to him, and he intentionally threw his right elbow out at Collins.
So protect the goon all you want, his BS tactics shoudl have him thrown off.
That is NOT Spurs basketball.

But it's a necessary evil in today's game. If a player who sees that replay has second thoughts about laying out Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili, Tony Massenburg did his job.
Sac up and wipe away the tears. This is a man's game.

Spurs basketball, TPark????
You mean soft as Charmin Spurs' bball that we all had to listen to from every national scribe for 10 yrs??? Little Mermaid bball??? You mean the bball that caused every player on DRob's team to just sit there and watch Malone knock DRob to the floor without anyone even bothering to get up in Malone's grill and at least act like they gave a shit???
Grow the fuck up man...you are such a whiney pussy.
TPark's a pussy!
TPark's a pussy!
TPark's a pussy!
Grazing doesn't knock you flat on your ass, he said he was grazed because he didn't want to look like he got punked by Mass, which he did.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but he did hit him hard and intentionally...
It was an intentional hit to the mouth.
A lot of players swing there elbows when they get a rebound.
If you watch it again (I tivo'd it) Tony is facing the other way when he swngs the elbows. For all he knew, he was going to hit the guy in the chest or shoulder.
If Mass wanted to hurt the kid, he would of.
Tony is the muscle that all championship teams need.
We had it with Willis and now we have it with Mass.
totally agreed. It is nice to see our guys backing each other up on cheap shots or hard fouls. Even duncan will step up to a big man if they slam tony or Manu. That is why Kobe is seeing harder fouls this year, no shaq to protect him.Quote:
