Manu si, Timmy no
By Mike Monroe
ATLANTA -- For the first time since Feb. 11, Manu Ginobili was in uniform for the Spurs on Wednesday night.
For the second time in eight days, Tim Duncan was not, sitting out the second game of the Spurs' back-to-back games against the Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made the pronouncement on Ginobili in his pre-game meeting with reporters before the Spurs-Hawks game at Philips Arena here Wednesday.
Ginobili has been out with a stress reaction in his right distal fibula. Cleared by the team's medical staff, Ginobili will be on a regimen of limited minutes until his conditioning returns to NBA game level.
Popovich, seeking to keep Duncan fresh and healthy for the playoffs, had hoped to limit Duncan's minutes in Tuesday's game against the Warriors so he could have him available for Wednesday's game. Instead, he had to use Duncan for more than 19 minutes in the second half to secure a one-point victory.
"If we'd been able to keep (his minutes) in the teens, we could have played him," Popovich said. "When they got to 24, that got into a gray area."
Good to have Manu back. :elephant
Look in the mirror to place blame. No team is going to blowout another team in the NBA with the coach throwing random and nonsensical lineups onto the court.Quote:

Cool! And...dammit!
I think Timmy should've played at least 10 minutes tonight, but oh well it's Pop's world and we're all just living in it.
d228 gave me the heads up to post it, she was busy checking out her cool Timmy autographs again.
:rollin
:lol :)
I hope Gooden and Bonner starts instead of KT and Bonner
Well I'm ecstatic that Manu is coming back! Tim I'm a bit dissapointed that he is not playing. He only played 24 mins last night and looked great in those minutes but it's Pop's decision so we just gotta go with it.
There are two more back-to-backs. Unless Pop can do what he wanted to do last night and limit Duncan in the first game, I don't expect to see Duncan in one game of them. It's a small price to pay if it helps him for the Playoffs.
Hopefully ALL of our guys can step up tonight in the absence of Timmy. Especially the big men Gooden, Thomas, Bonner, and even Oberto.
Manu Si = :elephant
Timmy No = Now Zsa Zsa won't be able to own Timmy again.
:smokin
I can't understand what is Pop thinking.
Why he tried to limit TD's minutes yesterday to play today?
Tim can't play only 15 minutes per game. It's more important his health than all what he can do in 15 minutes. This is really stupid.
I guess Tim wants to play every game but it has no sense.
Why the fuck did you bring Manu back to sit TD??????????
I hate these early east coast games.
Manu!
Y'Know, I honestly think Pop was going to play Tim tonight, even with 24 minutes last night...right up to the point where he saw Jack Nies name on the ref crew. Why bother?
Welcome back manu!!!
I expect Gooden to play heavy minutes tonight..
If he wants to prove himself to the team and become
part of Pops playoff rotation, then now's the time.
