I really liked Dominique Wilkins tonight. I thought he was insightful and not very homerish at all. If anything he was slurping us big time.
Who are your favorites?
I also really like Clyde Frazier.

Dominique is very good. I like Clyde too, great TV personality. Speaking of Knicks, Bernard King was on NBATV the other day. Wow, was just as likeable as Barkley but no where near as stupid. Very well spoken and enjoyable to watch and listen too. And just think it wasn't that long ago he retired. An under-the-radar great.
I love the Clippers announcers, they're pretty much the most unbiased crew in all sports! Wish we had them for our Spurs games.
And they're pretty funny.
id rather listen to mike tyson doing an avery johnson impersonation than listen to clyde talk. i like the clippers guys cuz i live in LA and ralph is a good dude and they always give the spurs their props.
worst: portland and boston. tommy heinsohn. enough said.
what's wrong with clyde frazier? he knows his stuff really well, isn't a homer, isn't afraid to call guys out and his hilarious rhymes make it very entertaining. i think he's great.
drexler on the other hand....let's just say that there are clydes on both ends of the announcer quality spectrum.
the most biased tv announcers are the rockets announcers clyde drexler and the other one. Clippers announcers are indeed unbiased,
:lol Clyde Drexler sucks. I also think the Dallas announcers are terrible as well.
I at least like that our Spurs announcers are biased for the team, and aren't so bitter against the opponents. Lakers announcers are kind of like that.
And yes, I agree Clippers are one of the best announcers. Both the young and the old guy.
Hawks are good.
The most annoying thing this year I noticed is some of the stupid announcers are carping about the Spurs being old.
Portland's guys and the Wizards' guys are good. Clyde is awful.
Tommy Heinsohn sounds like fred flinstone man...
Portland announcers are a bunch of tools...
I don't know the names of very many announcers, but I have found that the Pacers announcers are often knowledgeable and unbiased during the games.
Bill Worrell, enough said...
Clyde Frazier is great, the guys today, and yeah, the Clipshow guys, they're all good.
There are some huge homers out there though - Houston, Dallas, Denver are pretty bad, and is it my imagination or are the Sacto guys real turds? And don't forget those Laker fuckers - respect to Joel Meyers who I always liked when he was with the Spurs - but those other guys, they suck balls, and I think they've infected Joel with their stink since he joins in the homerism sometimes. Ugh.
I'm quite used to Bill Land now and like his homsey enthusiasm. I also enjoy Sean, but wish he'd be less of a homer.
Best:
Clippers
Hawks
Wizards
Knicks
Bobcats
Toronto
Pacers
Worst:
Boston
Denver
Portland
Phoenix
Houston
Dallas
Utah
Yeah, spot on. And it's a mostly East-West thing. Out East they appreciate our fundamentals because they only have to get owned twice a year at most, but on our side of the fence we drub them up and down the court all year so they resent us.
And Boston, well Tommy can stick his points where the sun don't shine! :lmao
I agree with others that have said the Clippers announcers are the best. Most games I am disappointed when we don't get the call on League Pass but when we are playing the Clippers I pretty much don't care either way.
celtics announcers are the worst
I miss the Sonics and the Sonics announcers. Kevin Calabro was great; at least we get to see him occasionally on ESPN now.
Also, because the Sonics simulcast the television and radio broadcasts, you got guys actually talking about the game and not last night's episode of Survivor Wife Swap.
This has been already widely settled by a graph distributed last year:

New Jersey and the Clippers have the best announcers in the NBA..completely unbiased, and they aren't boring..
Atlanta, Golden State, Indiana, LA Lakers, Minnesota, New York, and Washington all have good announcers..
some announcers are unbiased and good at times, but are boring as hell..Toronto fits that perfectly..Chicago as well..
Boston is considered the worst by most people, but I actually like them..not for basketball purposes, but for entertainment..Tommy Heinsohn's rants are some of the funniest things you'll ever hear involving the NBA..
Cleveland and Miami have really annoying announcers, centered around the annoying nature of Lebron and Wade..I can't stand Carr especially..
Dallas and Phoenix for obvious reasons..it's funny how much they hate the Spurs..
Denver for obvious reasons as well..they're widely considered as some of the worst..
Houston is obviously bad as well, specifically Drexler..New Orleans announcers are horrible..I'm not a fan of Orlando..
Portland's announcers are inconsistent..they're good at times, but very whiny and annoying at times..
You're kidding, right? You could not have watched last sunday's game and enjoyed Bill Worell and Clyde Drexler hack up that broadcast...what about the end of the game, where these two knobs went on and about how .03 was not enough time for a catch and shoot? I have always liked Bill Worrell on Astros broadcasts, but honestly, that last Spurs/Rockets abortion may have ruined it for me for good. They blow.
Not road announcers, since they are my "home" team, but I really like the Atlanta Hawks announcers. I think they do a great job of informing us about the visiting team, and they know more than just the stars. And they let us know how the Hawks are doing in the game relative to the season. IOW, they are good for both the one game viewer and the season viewer.
And the salad tossing continues!
:lol
The Warriors (Jim Barnett and Bob Fitzgerald) are the best I've heard. Both are very complimentary to other teams/players/coaches. If the refs make a bad call against the other team they say so and don't always think their team deserved the call.
The best balance I've heard.
I liked them a hell of a lot more when they had Steve Smith instead of Deke. Though Deke's not bad.
Stacey King and whoever for Chicago are pretty good.
LA's guys are professional as hell. I really just enjoy Laker telecasts in general.
I like Grant and Jerry out in Sacro because they got nothing but love for Utah. Although I think plenty of people don't like them at all.
The Spurs (Ultimate condescending homer Sean "I'm not going to mispell his last name" lest I face the wrath of st's encoding) The Celtics (Tommy "I'm a senile clueless jackass" Heinsohn) & The Heat all have the worst.
I'm a league pass chick so I get to hear the other teams announcers more than I would like.
Funny and unbiased The Clippers crew
In love with the spurs.......... washington and atlanta's crews
most competent............... the Knicks... always a pleasure to listen to them.
Now the fun list. The worst.
Grab your remote immediately and go for the MUTE button
Denver's, Portland's, and Boston's.. You may damage your tv screen listening to these :donkey
The rest are :sleep with an occasional homer comment.
Sean is the best a combo of basketball knowledge and wit. :toast
Of course, I am totally biased. :flag:
Chick Hearn was good... Stu Lance sucks!!!
The Clippers commentators are pretty good.
