Re: Iverson to Spurs? Why Not?
AI would be great addition to us. Him and tony parker arent same type of players like many explaining here. Tony is more like the better version of chauncey billups.
Tony is scorer, better scorer then chauncey billups. But AI is great scorer, and would pawn both of them in that category. But when it comes to point guarding, tony knows how to run a team. He is the better point guard, AI is just average point guard. He has assist numbers, because of his passing skills. But he doesnt run offense at all. He is average PG, great scorer. Tony is good scorer, and great PG.
IMO we should go after him, and after rasheed wallace as well. Dont come to me with george hill, roger mason and future. Tim duncan is in the thirtees. He is special kind of player, when he retires we wont be the same. Our time is to win now with him. Developing george hill, roger mason wont take us anywhere. Unless we draft another tim duncann one day lol.
I also dont take AI's time at detroit much serious. It was obvious they did it for salary dumping. They didnt bother about winning with AI. Which I think pissed off some of their players. especially inserting that rookie into the starting lineup.

bring iverson off the bench that'd be a perfect role for him, they need scoring desperately I also belive Greg Popovich is respected enough (won championships) that Iverson would bend his HUge ego and listen.
That would probably be iverson's best chance at a title. Or Maybe same thing in Boston. If he doesn't accept a bench role, 6th man type no one will sign up pretty much.
I'm not sure how anyone can post this with a straight face after how he destroyed Denver while he was there and turned Detroit into a mediocre ballclub almost overnight.
He's a cancer. Veto.

You've already seen it....... remember the 2003 finals? Remember the Jason Kidd ordeal which would have made him second fiddle as well?
And his reaction? See his performance this season....

Iverson is the basketball version of Terrell Owens. He's only concerned about his touches and couldn't give a damn about winning or committing toward playing championship-level basketball, which, by the way, encompasses teamwork and great chemistry.
I hope he ends up with a losing team like the Clippers or Warriors. That way, he can get all the shots he wants, drive up his scoring average and lose every night. I'm sure that would make him very happy.

He's never played with superstar-caliber teammates, and simply refuses the "share the rock" with anyone. He WILL NOT adjust his game or style of play for ANYBODY.
He's still a great player and a point machine, that can score with anybody. However he's a volume shooter, who restricts any offensive flow because he's too busy trying to get himself off. He's a ball-hogging, team killer, who does not know what it takes to win at a championship level.
You're dreaming if you think he could play alongside Duncan, Parker, Manu or any other superstar-level player for that matter.

Mark my words, he'll end up with a cellar-dweller for probably less than half of the enormous salary he received last season.

Re: Iverson to Spurs? Why Not?
You are underrating popovich. I think Popovich can be to AI, what larry brown was to him. At denver or sixers he was never talked about being a cancer. Infact, denver changed their half team this season. Nene ( came back from cancer), andersen ( great defender, big man off the bench), dahntay jones ( another great free agent pick up), balkman, petro are all new to the nuggets this season. Basically on 12 man, they had 6 of it changed ( adding billups) . Melo, Jr smith, k-mart were the ones kept. So looking at denver improving over the last year is stupid.
Again, We have to look to win in the now. Not future. another great player like tim duncan we will never have. Parker, manu while very good players are just great role players for a chaampionship team. Tin duncan is the reason of our success. Once his gone, will never be the same.
