I'm sure everyone already knew his importance. However, a championship team needs to have depth to make up for health issues, and the backups should be enough to get past the first round. The Spurs just didn't have it. They really never got anything going this year, and weren't better than the other 7 teams below the Lakers. Hopefully that'll be resolved next year.

Pop made a lot of mistakes this season. If he would have let G Hill develop, they could have survived a bit longer without Manu. But to win a title, the Spurs needed the big 3 healthy. HOpefully all three of them will be back next year.

I appreciate all the positive things Manu has done for this team but he really screwed the Spurs over by not resting last off season. I had advocated since last year to trade Manu while his value was high, that time probably won't be coming again anytime soon...

You're a dumbass. Playing in the olympics had nothing to do with the stress fracture in the right ankle. All NBA players play in a summer league or some kind of pick up competition regardless of whether it is the olympics or not.
