I want to see the Big 2 plus Bowen, The Hill, Gooden and maybe Roger. The rest of these guys need to go. They are the very definition of shitty.
I want Ed Nealy, Darwin Cook, Michael Adams, Jon Sunvold, Jeff Cook, Gene Banks, Alfrederick Hughes back.
I would like to sign Dwight Howard, Dwayne Wade and Brandon Roy.
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, George Hill, Roger Mason, Bruce Bowen (1 more year), Drew Gooden (with a full-training camp he will help ALOT). Everyone else- GONE. Maybe Kurt one more year.
Trevor Ariza
Rasheed Wallace
Dahntay Jones
Drew Gooden
how about ron artest?
or maybe steph jackson? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D i missed him as much as making love to pressure....
Aside from the Big 3 the Spurs should keep Mason, Hill,Gooden and Bowen. Everyone else should freaking leave, they are much too old and slow. Hopefully we can maybe get Dwayne Wade in some weird way, perhaps trade Ginobili.
The Big 3
George Hill
Roger Mason Jr. (who cares if he choked in the playoffs?)
Bruce Bowen
Kurt Thomas
Drew Gooden
James Gist
Ian Mahinmi
Malik Hairston
and hopefully Dahntay Jones, Sheed or Ariza.
if we dont get ariza, so we keep marcus williams who we hold his rights? or trade him? or look for the long 3 in teh draft again.....
isnt james gists what ariza is doing atm? if we need another ball handler, would marcus fit the job?
demarr johnson watever happen to this dude, he had a downfall in his career when he left the nuggets, i remember spurs v nuggets in 05 playoffs he was very physical with our guards....
we need to get all the guys we have in europe. that way we dont spend alot of money and we can build them into the spurs system, they'll have fresh minds about the nba since their young. we have 3 guys overseas. a 2 centers and power forward.
Fab, Ime and JV will hopefully be gone, that's about 6mi to spent maybe on Gooden or Rasheed or Ariza.
I would be happy if we could trade Bonner.
Much of it depends on how well Ian, Gist and others do in the summer league.
With Manu healthy, and TP playing like he did this year, and TD close to or over 90%, I like our chances for next year, neither the lakers nor the mavs can afford paying 95+ milion per year, especially if they don't win it all.
Hill, Hairston, Mahinmi, Williams and Gist. oh and Tim and Tony.
Tim Duncan
Tony Parker
George Hill
Roger Mason Jr.
Carlos Boozer
Trevor Ariza OR Shawn Marion
James Gist
Pops Mensa-Bonsu
Drew Gooden or Rasheed Wallace
Tiago Splitter
Bruce Bowen [if he chooses not to retire, than on the bench]
and a mean-azz 110% Manu Ginobili with a chip on his shoulder.
:flag:
Rasheed Wallace can be another KT or maybe another Bonner who has defense(see how many 3pt shoots he's made this season!). I really don't want him to join the Spurs.
Maybe Gist could be a good defender. Ian and Manu should be healthy. Bowen and Finley can retire. We need a guy who can both offense and defense like Ariza and Artest(who I see no hope to sign with).
i like ramon sessions
what makes yall think gooden would wanna be back
LBJ, Please.
Ian Mahinmi - Healthy and productive
Manu Ginobili - Healthy (I have no worries about his productivity)
George Hill - Not getting his chain yanked around
Tony Parker - Keeping up this years pace in (but needing to carry less load offensively; he needs to have some more energy left for D)
Tim Duncan - Healthy with carefully managed minutes to help him stay that way
Bruce Bowen - Bought out, resigned for cheap, and given a fair shot a keeping the starting job (Fuck Pop's mancrush on Finley)
Roger Mason Jr - As a shooting guard (starting) - use a gun as a gun Pop!
A new 3d PG (Jason Hart?) - Mr. Vaughn, your a nice guy, and quite smart, but it's time to move into coaching
Malik Hairston - Congratulations on taking Udoka's job
Marcus Williams - Keep working on your game, you've come a long way, but you have a long way to go...
A new SF (James Gist?) - Mr. Finley, thanks for your services, we wish you luck in your future endeavours, and please never come onto the court for us again.
A new C - Mr. Oberto, we are very sorry to see you leave the organization due to your health problems (his heart). Please stay in touch, good people are hard to find, and you have been a good man for us.
Kurt Thomas, 3ed C - Mr Thomas, as a reliable and professional veteran, we are pleased to keep you with the organization as a 3ed C, and we hope we can send you off with a championship in 2010.
A new PF - Mr. Gooden, it didn't work out between you and Pop, but you handled the matter with professionalism. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. (Yeah, Drew might be nice to have back, but he's gone...After Pop benched him in the playoffs, he ain't coming back).
Another Big (Rasho Nesterovic in an S&T?) - Mr. Bonner, you gave the organization your best shot, but you are not starting NBA talent. Thank you very much for your efforts and professionalism, we wish you luck in your future endeavours, and please never come onto the court for us again.
Coaching Staff
Pop - Pop, please pull your head out of your ass. 08/09 was goddamned annoying. A chimp could have prioritized better than you - develop the young talent during the season so as to peak in the playoffs, instead of riding veteran horses into the ground...
Lets be Real:
Pop will not overhaul his roster for young blood. He will keep mostly vets. We all know him already.....Not unless a crazy trade proposal is made for a young player in the league, I dont see a young talent coming to the Spurs this year.
As long as the Big 3 are healthy we will always have a chance for a title and I would like to see some more young players but we also do need some vets....Gotta have a mix of both.
how did J.Gist do playing ball over seas this year?? does anyone know? we need youth badly whether the big 3 are healthy or not! and some coaching thats going to let them learn , make mistakes , learn from those mistakes, gain confidence and play well and not put them in a dog house every time they make a mistake. :downspin::ihit:flag:
rasheed next to duncan would be nice and splitter if it were ever possible......No disrespect to these players but bonner, udoka, oberto, and vaughn need to go
A healthy Duncan, healthy Manu, healthy Mahinmi and Splitter/Gist
PG: Parker, Hill, Williams
SG: Ginobili, Mason, Hairston
SF: Dahntay Jones, Bowen, Michael Gelabale
PF: Duncan, Rasheed, Gist
C: Mahinmi, Bonner, Thomas
When do all these offseason moves start happening? when does the free agency period start etc. etc.?
We should have dump salaries two years ago so last year we can lure impact players to Spurs with just slightly cheaper because of the promise of championship. We cannot throw midlevel exception money and expect someone like Magette swing by. Now not the salary cap is limited, Spurs got destroyed by lower seed in almost sweep fashion. No impact player will consider Spurs anymore if Spurs didnt put big money on table and currently salary cap is limited. Only thing we can do is geting someone from draft or signing mediocre player to add up and pray Manu will be healthy. Spurs can be in playoffs again but will NOT WIN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SURE WITH THIS INABILITY TO SCORE (Tony is excluded he's playing fantastic). Spurs s fucking done with title run if they cannot get someone good this offseason, guaranteed!!!
Gist
Mahinmi
Ariza
Ben Wallace
Splitter
+1 if they could get Sheed, and one of the following I think San Antonio would be in good shape with Mahinmi, Hill and possibly Gist.
I do agree though that the chances of retaining Gooden are slim. It is clear that Pop doesn't want him and even if they did what make you think Gooden would want to play for a team that didn't play him in a elimination game.
Ariza will stay in lakers, why he want somewhere else while he's starting in the best team in West?..i bet my money on it!!!
Splitter will stay in Tau..cheap ass Spurs will never buyout his contract..EVER!!
(Remember Scola?)
Spurs can get Ben Wallace, but i dont know what he is for except for extra rebound and block..spurs still cannot score anyway in playoffs
Mahinmi is the only logical guy who wear silver and black
ariza.
- If Magette still prefer money, than Spurs will never ever get him..EVER
- RJ is a good idea..but I dont know about contract situation..and if spurs got any money left in cap
- Ariza will never go to spurs
- Wallace..Rasheed?? good idea...but just like usual Spurs dilema,Spurs always reluctant about big money..and sheed like big money
- Rashoi...it can happen easily, but it means no upgrade
- D. Jones....dantay or damon..dantay is good but nuggets like him
- Prizbilla...he is a spurs type of player
The big three +
bowen
ian
gooden
hill
gist
hairston
add+ Rip,Sheed, and Tayshuan
oh and mason
Not being real at all:
Parker, Duncan, Ginobli, Mason, Hill, Bowen, Gooden
+
Ben Gordon
John Salmons
Brook Lopez
Al Jefferson
Dahntay Jones
Such a damn shame Maggette pulled out on us...............
TP, TD, Hill, Gooden, NOT Ginobili...the rest need to go.
Kobe would be a nice addition...and Wade.
There is no victory without Manu.
Although TD is the pillar of the Spurs, Manu is the soul of the Spurs.
As you can see, without Manu, what happens on Spurs....
So,GDP is the cornerstone of the Spurs.
We definetely need to keep Drew Gooden, I think he will be a vital piece for our run next year. He was still hurt, and I believe that's why Pop benched him, he didnt want him to further injure himself. Next year everyone will be healthy, and ready for a fresh attack on the NBA Title. As for Maggette, fuck him!!! He's a chump and a player who thinks he's better than he actually is, we don't need that fool. He's a money player, he doesn't care about winning a championship, if he did, he would have came here in a heartbeat.
I would like to see
Starters
Thomas
Duncan
Bowen
Mason
Parker
Reserves
Gooden
Mahinmi - debatable
T.Prince - would be a nice fit IMO
Ginobili - the primary ball handler in the 2nd unit
Hill
both units would be great defensively with bowen or prince guarding the 2/3 spots and hill getting those pesky pgs.
what do you guys think? can we get prince any time soon??
Rasheed wallace is free agent. I would go after him.
I would also sign a scorer.
I would like to see a new young big dominant center/forward. I believe its time to do what we did to David Robinson when Tim Duncan entered in the league. Have him focus on defense and ride Tim Duncan on offensive. We need a young athletic center so we can ride on offense and have Timmy on focus on Defense and offensive boards. Timmy will still get his numbers. I know there is a possibility for Splitter playing for the Spurs in 2010 after the 3 years rookie salary level is over, therefore allowing us to pay him more money. We need to trade up in the draft or trade for a great center. We have plenty of expering contract this upcoming season that are tempting to other teams.
We have what other teams want "Expiring Contracts" and for us is just bringing in new talent since these contracts are the older players.
as a mavericks fan, I hope Gooden sticks with you guys... look how much better teams get when he leaves...
