That's what I was thinking.
I was a Carter kid, also.

Eisenhower for me folks.
How Old are You threads have been done before probably. Plus this thread makes people have to google a list of presidents to see who was pres. when they were born.Quote:
I guess starting this poll is more fun than just asking "how old are you?"
I would put money on the fact that many people would not know without looking it up.
plus the fact that a lot of people don't like telling their age. I don't give a crap about telling my age, but others do (especially the women...). Saying who was president when you were born, gives people a 4 to 8 year time frame for their age.
I was born during the tail-end of Eisenhower, so I'm still in my 40s.
2 Democrats ago (aka Carter) for me. Not really surprisingly, over 40% so far from the 70's Presidents.
reagan first term
Richard Milhous Nixon
Ford. Growing up during the age of Reagan and Bush41 didn't have an effect on me as I started out voting Democratic.
Where is the George Washington option for Xray?
what's with all the "old" jokes about X Ray? is he really old? what happened to him anyway, is he still around? did he die of old age?

Truman. They have all lied, before being elected, even more after being in office when reality sets in.
First year of George H.W. Bush's term.
reagan used to bump chicago like no other during his first term
I didn't say everyone would have to google to find out, but I positively know that EVERY poster here does not know. In fact, when I did this poll, I googled a list of presidents myself... I wasn't sure if I came into the world during JFK or Eisenhower... I had never really been interested in it before. (wasn't sure if JFK took office in '60 or '61).Quote:
Considering that there's been what? at most 10 presidents in the life of most posters in here, I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't know who was in office at the time.
If I asked my wife who was president when she was born, I would be shocked if she knew right offhand.
2nd term of Reagan.
Why would people? It's not like that is something within their period of experience (unless the Pres served two terms that the person was alive for). I can remember every president starting with the one AFTER I was born because I can remember those times. The list of Presidents was never all that big of a deal in school. Unless a President either did something big, or something big happened during his term, it just doesn't seem important to the vast majority of people, including teachers.
