Sheed is overrated and McDyess never had it

Let's face it: Sheed is nutcase with next to nothing left in the tank. He's 36 and he is going to want a 3 year deal minimum. He has turned into a 3 point chucker, and his defense is not what it used to be. Go ahead Celtics, fall into that trap.

As far as Antonio, we all know the guy has his knees shot. Yeah, he's got a jumper, but so did Kurt Thomas, and look where that got us. Plus the guy seems to be married to Dumars. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves money on the table to play with Detroit again. We want guys that want to be on our team and want to win it all.

Antonio still has plenty left in the tank in spite of his bad knees, he was a rebounding monster down the stretch last season. He has the heart of a champion and would be a great complimentary piece to the spurs.

Sheed on the otherhand is a headcase but he can still play when hes healthy and motivated.

To be fair, Flip Saunders wasn't exactly the biggest proponent of intense defense, and Popovich has and always will be. Rasheed understands that San Antonio is an intensely defensive team.

My biggest concern is if Pop will be able to contain his hostile personality. I was surprised he had an interest in him to begin with. I bet Larry Brown had something to do with it (since their good friends).

What? The +/- numbers clearly show that when Matt Bonner is on the court he's helping his team more than Sheed helps his team when he's on the court. Same for McDyess. The Spurs don't need either of those guys. The Spurs need to look for Bonner's backup elsewhere, because these two guys just won't cut it.
