Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
Just for something to do in the off-season and to help the new Spur stayed focused, why don't we all send messages to the Spurs and Blair to have him wear #37, his draft pick #, instead of #45.
On draft night, Blair vowed a little playful revenge on the teams that passed over him. He didn't exactly back off that vow Wednesday.
“I've got a poster of the whole draft,” Blair said. “I'm going to check off every team that passed on me.”
He seems like an absolutely fierce competitor. With that number on his chest, I think it'd be a little more meaningful when he'd bang his fist on his heart after every good play and the fans would be chanting--THIRTY SEVEN--THIRTY SEVEN--Thirty Seven
Hey, the NBA is all about entertainment and marketing, right?

I thought the idea was awesome, when I read he did consider to do exactly that. But then I thought it could also turn out to be the ultimate jinx. I mean what if in the middle of an 37 chant his knee failed him...

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
Gotta admit, I am hoping the team hangs the nickname "37" on him. That would make sure he stays hungry for the rest of his life...
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
I hope he wears whatever number he wants to wear without fans trying to make the decision for him. I highly doubt he needs to have his draft number on his chest to remind him.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
I hope DB saves his best for the Lakers and Mavs, the only teams to have knocked us out in the last 9 seasons.
As far as 37, it'd be great if Blair puts up that many points in a game this season.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
Hopefully he is successful and the drive to win a championship is all the motivation he needs. I don't think Manu cares about where he was taken anymore. Timmy either.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
If Blair wants to wear 37 I'm fine with it, but him turning the Spurs into one of the better rebounding teams in the league would be a big enough kick in the shin to the rest of the league.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
in b4 he loses his hunger once he signs big contract forgetting entirely about some draft 3 years ago
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
Blair (37th) has joined our fantastic duo - Parker (28th) and Manu (57th) - to form "the Low Three".

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
I'd like to petition the Spurs to change Ian Mahinmi's number from #28, his draft selection #......
to #2, the most comfortable setting on the LifeCycle exercise bike Ian frequently uses.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
Nice idea, but ah! that would suck if he was jinxed because of it...what a depressing thought.
Like the marketing idea, though, and the enthusiasm.:toast I hope something along the lines of Blair getting "some type of revenge" will happen, but first and foremost we have to see how he handles camp/preseason..etc and if hes a beast as the season goes, ill be very happy to go along with a "37!!" chant. Something new and fresh for the fans to see that doesnt involve fake picture poses and baby powder (lebron) or an idiot pounding his chest and obnoxiously cursing at his competition (kg)

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
The truth is, everyone passed on him. Some teams 2 and three times each. He should be plenty motivated.
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
If you need your number to motivate you, get the hell off the team.
He wants 45.
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
If he keeps his current number the arena sound guys can cue up a clip from Billy Dee Williams' malt liquor commercials when he scores. "...45. Works every time."
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
I like your thinkin SFIE...
Big Kev would be down with that, I know that.

he doesnt need a poster to figure out every team that passed him, it was every team other than the spurs lol

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37

Foul on #37, with 3 fingers on my right hand and 7 fingers on my left hand.

Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
What the fuck is the difference??? It's just a goddamn number.
The only numbers I care about are what he gets on the boards.
-
Re: Petition Blair and Spurs--Wear #37
So he is going to make all the teams regret they passed on him and checkmark off all the teams as he plays against them. Sounds like a witch hunt.
So you could say this is the "Blair witch hunt project" :lol

Have some faith, bro. Don't you feel there is some awesome power out there that brought 37 to us?
