I saw a Noam Chomsky lecture at MIT and he quoted Russell quite a bit (not to mention Kant, Hegel, Trotsky, Sitting Bull, ect...). I ended up just randomly, outside of school, picking up his Western Philosophy book and found it comprehensive and without obvious bias. I am not a philosophy or math major, but he had a way of getting the point across in mostly plain English, which I certainly appreciated.

Very well said. Instead of endlessly berating him, even "fail" pictures multiple pages in, we should point him to the FAQ or be on our way not giving a shit.

It's not infinite regression. It's required by logic. In mathematics, we often use proof by contradiction. Bertrand Russell certainly accepted that two mutually exclusive propostions (a thesis and its antithesis) could not both be true. So, the statements I made are ones that are logically true.
The denial of the existence of causal relationships is problematic.
The epistemology of causality is something else.
Logic applies in the area of epistemology as it does elsewhere.

In case you haven't figured it out, the reason why there isn't (other than this idiotic thread) a thread which says that the Spurs have signed McDyess is because there isn't a reliable source which says so outside of the forum and Hoopsworld (and which doesn't quote Hoopsworld).

No, if that were the premise of my statement then I would be in here defending the moron who started this thread with already-posted and inaccurate information. If someone's going to come in here saying the OP has the right to post whatever he wants, then I'm entitled to the same defense. If they aren't entitled to post whatever they want, I'm still pretty confident that I have the leeway to make fun of them or defend myself.

Your record of my hypocrisy is about as strong as the sources on the news story in the OP. Bumping this thread is fine as long as nobody's starting new ones. The mods have done their job by altering the thread title to accurately cite the dubious source. The rest of this is just all of us having fun, mainly at your expense since the OP seems to have disappeared.
